Has PAF Created It's Own 'Spice' Bomb

It looks like IR / SAL guidance kit with a tandem penetrator cap.

@dBSPL @CAN_TR guys do u have a BVR which has a range greater than AIM120C5?

Bro, I don't understand the issue, but how can radar-guided missiles with 100km longer distances be effective against modern fighter jets? Enemy pilot will have a huge response range and a lot of options for avoidance. Of course I don't mean heavy targets like tanker aircraft and AWACS.

Kindly take another look, it may be nothing like the spice but it certainly is no standard pave way series.

Paveway series has certain mods which can be added or removed. Hence, giving the weapon a different look.

This thing, in particular, has no significance since it's merely a dummy weapon for practice. I sent this picture to a guy in 5 sqn and he has said the same thing. This is why i didnt respond to this thread earlier since i wanted to be sure myself.

No we have not. its a GBU 10 Paveway II Laser guided bomb

This is a GBU.10,note the difference of the seeker head from the image Windy posted.

no its GBU 10 paveway II. as you can see the body of GBU 27 is leaner whereas GBU 10 is bulky

relevance to the discussion?
You're not copying nazi's germany weapon but Israeli weapons, u're welcome to use WW2 weapons if u'd like
You don’t reverse engineer stuff you dont have.

If anything we copied the concept, cant really claim corner shooting and guided bombs as israeli concepts.

No, India makes its own LGB & PGM. Only special munitions like SPICE which have image recognition are imported. India does not need such bombs in large numbers as in major war, it is impractical to image each target and then launch. So, simple mass bombing does not need Spice type bombs and hence India does not put efforts into making them
Kid, we have had REKT, Takbir etc since years now.

All the while you were fiddling with failed sudarshan guidance kits.

Spice uses satellite images to memorise the target and then guides itself to that target once dropped. Spice has been used by Israel several times in Syria & Iraq and hence Pakistan may already have got some bombs long time back. But to use it, Pakistan needs extensive network of accurate satellite cameras.

Even India does not make Spice bombs as India does not find meaning in making Spice as it is difficult to be used during major wars. Spice is only good for limited warfare due to its accuracy. But during major war, it is hard to take satellite images of every target and hence Spice becomes ineffiicient.
Pakistan Army and Air Force has dedicated departments that create and maintains very high resolution GIS data of all of India. They have been doing this for atleast two decades if not more.Such data includes so called fly paths which can be fed into Missiles and Stand off weapons. It’s like library of multiple off the shelf fly paths to pre identified targets. A different fly path can selected from the choices available depending on the weather, defenses etc. if a new target is identified the existing base data can be used to create fly paths as desired on very short notice. So please stop thinking of Pakistani as a bunch uneducated buffoons.

let them continue living in their fantasy world. This is what makes 1965 and Feb 26/27 possible.

Guys, as many people have already posted, these are just US supplied weapons for the F-16/C/Ds ... nothing extraordinary. In fact, US also supplied Paveway III/GBU-24s to India during Kargil to use from their Mirage 2000s.

All air forces and militaries use colors an bands to indicate different types of rounds and warheads. The pictures posted in this thread from 2013 show an example of that. As PAF uses US weapons for its F-16s, it follows the same color codes/classifications as the USAF.

Blue Color:
Both the Paveway II (GBU-12 with Mk82 500lb) and the Paveway III (GBU-24 with BLU-109 2000lb) bombs pictured here are inert training rounds. They are used to train pilots flying certain profiles as bombs limit aircraft flight characteristics. These bombs are usually filled with concrete to give them the same weight as a live bomb.

While they have no explosives, they can and have been dropped by aircraft in combat where the need to limit collateral damage is necessary.

P.S. Paveway II series also includes GBU-16 and GBU-10 with Mk83/1000lbs and Mk84/2000 pound bombs.

Training round of Maverick, TGM-65D with an IIR type seeker head. (Laser and TV/CCD guided variants have clear nose sections)

Green Color:
These are live weapons with either high explosive or anti-personnel warheads.

Red Color:
These usually indicate an incendiary round. The blue band however indicates its an inert bomb as well.
