Hangzhou Sports infrastructures - in progress of construction or already in use:

The development, according to the designers, will redefine sustainable design excellence in sports facilities throughout Asia. The stadium will lead a 2-million-square-meter mixed use commercial program in a green park setting. The site will be designed to create a seamless pedestrian experience that weaves together sports and commercial programs while forming a clear path of circulation between two planned major transportation hubs.

Composed of three layers of activity, the 80,000 seat main stadium will be the premier international sports venue for the city of Hangzhou and is currently the largest stadium planned for China that will be completed within the next 10 years.

. . . .
Big cities in China lack sport facilities.
More should be built!

More of the affordable ones that can be economically feasible should be built.

You are piling up debt without reason. Ever seen the domestic debt of local governments? Debt isn't a good thing.

Also, since the corruption crack down, and the decrease in benefits of civil servants, many good people have left the Chinese Government. This is one of the reasons behind the whole market ruckus. Idiots are filled in Chinese regulatory bodies now.

No need of such big and fancy ones. Build where local communities can play.

For example, stadiums with capacities of 80000 are just too big. Even utilizing a fraction of their capacity is a head ache.

Do u know how popular archery is in China?
Chinese are crazy about a lot of sports.
I guess u don't know even curling is popular in NE China.
@Yizhi
And our kids love ice hockey!

(There are a lot such places where kids learn ice hockey)

Exactly.
China should host more championships and big games, not just Beijing/Shanghai/Guangzhou.
More opportunities should be given to 2nd or 3rd tier cities.

When a country is not starved, sports are crucial for health and life expectancy.
China is still relatively deficient in sports facilities, especially in community-level.
This is a huge market.
I have just ordered weekend tennis hours using O2O APP.
(waiting for weeks, tennis stadium in my community too busy at weekend)

More sports, longer life!

@TaiShang @Shotgunner51
Come here and join the tennis maniacs
WUHANOPEN
Yes, Wuhan people are crazy about tennis!
I LOVE LI NA!

The Wuhan Open (currently sponsored by Dongfeng Motor) is a tennis tournament held in Wuhan, Hubei, China, organized for female professional tennis players. It is part of the Premier 5 tournaments on the WTA Tour and made its debut in the 2014 season.

Yes, tell me how popular is archery in China?

At least I know one thing that China doesn't win many medals in Archery, at least compared to its great track record in many other sports. Korea is the one that dominates usually.

Congrats china :)

It was the only bidding party for this event.

I was wondering what would have happened if there was no one.

U can search how popular archery is, not my job.
There are a lot of archery clubs in Wuhan.
Chinese archery team's achievements in 2008/2012 Olympics are similar to the entire Indian team.
Stadiums in China's 1st/2nd/3rd cities are seldom empty, pls SEARCH IN CHINESE!
Every major city should have at least one 50k+ stadium.
If other Asian countries cannot handle it, we can fix all Asian Games in China.
Every provincial capitals can handle it, we already have enough big stadiums on province-level.

I know the sports strategies are too beyond you. You suck in nearly every sport, u people have no notion of daily exercises. Sorry for that.:(
