Big cities in China lack sport facilities.Hangzhou Sports infrastructures - in progress of construction or already in use:
sports park for Hangzhou
The development, according to the designers, will redefine sustainable design excellence in sports facilities throughout Asia. The stadium will lead a 2-million-square-meter mixed use commercial program in a green park setting. The site will be designed to create a seamless pedestrian experience that weaves together sports and commercial programs while forming a clear path of circulation between two planned major transportation hubs.
Composed of three layers of activity, the 80,000 seat main stadium will be the premier international sports venue for the city of Hangzhou and is currently the largest stadium planned for China that will be completed within the next 10 years.

More should be built!

Exactly.
China should host more championships and big games, not just Beijing/Shanghai/Guangzhou.
More opportunities should be given to 2nd or 3rd tier cities.
When a country is not starved, sports are crucial for health and life expectancy.
China is still relatively deficient in sports facilities, especially in community-level.
This is a huge market.
I have just ordered weekend tennis hours using O2O APP.
(waiting for weeks, tennis stadium in my community too busy at weekend)
More sports, longer life!

Congrats china
U can search how popular archery is, not my job.No need of such big and fancy ones. Build where local communities can play.
For example, stadiums with capacities of 80000 are just too big. Even utilizing a fraction of their capacity is a head ache.
Yes, tell me how popular is archery in China?
At least I know one thing that China doesn't win many medals in Archery, at least compared to its great track record in many other sports. Korea is the one that dominates usually.
It was the only bidding party for this event.
I was wondering what would have happened if there was no one.
