I again reiterate, even though the cast system is prevalent in our society, it's purely illegal and the constitution and law clearly states that. We don't legally restrict the right to free movement, work , marry etc across the country. But yes cast system is still practiced, and that too in remote socio-economically backward villages and mostly among uneducated population. But you won't see the cast related discrimination and crimes at a rate it used to happened few decades back, changes are happening and over time it will be minimal just like the apartheid in South Africa.
