HAL Issue Global Tender for HTT-40 engine & ECU for AMCA

Lets come back to topic, So DRDO/HAL want ecu for AMCA, means they have APU. Without having APU they can't ask ECU.

Do you guys have any idea which engine AMCA will use for testing? is it GE414IN?? Or still its not finalized..???

I think after sometime Mods will merge this thread with official AMCA thread (if any).

. . .
Look like you didn't read the posts, Its one page 1

Thanks Dude, but being curious I was expecting some detail. Can't we manufacture in our labs? We have delivered electronic suite to US even.

My question could be childish but I have no idea regarding ECU....

Its Ok, some time we overlook some posts. And you are right Indian can make ECU... My friends are working in Robert Bosch and they make ECU software, The hardware comes from china (made in china certified by germans),....

If you see the first post, The bid is global, Indian companies too can bid. I know there are some companies in Gujrat who make this kind of circuit for MiGs. I think first bid will go to some foreign company, which some Indian will win second bid...

Ok I will tell you what is ECU...

ECU is an unit that control one or more activity of machine electronically. If you have seen Indian Bike Bajaj Pulsar, You will understand it easily, If you switch on the bike (not start) you can see your odometer, fuel meter, light etc come up, that is done by ECU unit. The unit take control af all things while switch is on.

Thanks a lot buddy for the detailed and informative description. Actually, I am from computer domain. So seems to be idiot :)

what is EMD for indian firms that is 3lakh?
can anyone build a engine 4 3 lakh?

Yes, turbo-prop engine is very much possible under 3 lakhs.

No guys its not like that, its not about the cost of the engines :woot:

EMD means Earnest Money Deposit: a deposit paid to demonstrate commitment and to bind a contract, with the remainder due at a particular time. If the contract is breached by failure to pay, then the earnest payment is kept by the recipient as pre-determined (liquidated) or committed damages.

Its normal for every tender.

. .
Turbo prop is very old technology, It has 4-5 cylenders, same number of pistons and one propeller, I think if one mass produce it, it can be made in few lakhs, but 3-4 Lakhs no, A good car engine cost 2 Laks. This ammount is EMD not cost, The cost will be calculated for bulk supply. ...

Wrong
What you are mentioning here is a piston powered aircraft engine. They were used in earlier times during the 1st and second world wars.A turbo prop is entirely different. It has only one combustion chamber which assists in the running of turbines than in turn run the propeller and compressor.Piston engines are no longer used in big jets and are used only in small planes to train pilots. The jet HAL is designing is HTT which means Hindustan turbo trainer.Earlier HAl developed a jet named HPT which stood for Hindustan piston trainer. That jet had the type pf engine you described.

.
EMD Earnest money deposit

Earnest money usually charged 2 % of actual amount that means engine cost would be 1.5 crore each.

If it was for FGFA, why would they have needed to release a Global Tender Notice??? If am sure Russia produces these...........

.
The prospective multi role fighter is the FGFA not the AMCA. All of us missed that 'small' part!

Thaks for clarifying it, You are right . Turbo prop is not piston engine...

Looks like you are right, See what I found on internet

Development of Prospective Multi-Role Fighter (PMF) launched
The Russian aircraft manufacturer United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) is entering a new era of cooperation with India, with the launching of the development of Prospective Multi-Role Fighter (PMF). Embarked December 2010 by UAC, Irkut and HAL, it was inaugurated in a press conference held at Aero-India 2011. Mikhail Pogosyan, recently nominated the new general director of UAC presented his view of the evolving cooperation between the two countries.

“The 5th Generation fighter is a most important step for the future relationship of the two countries’ said Pogosyan. The Russian T50 providing the basis for FGFA has already performed 40 flights and is undergoing ground testing, using three test articles, undergoing various static ground tests. Two additional T50 prototypes will join the test unit this year, accelerating the development progress. Pogosyan expects the program to complete the first phase next year. He assured that the Indian concern for sharing technology in the program was well covered in the contract, to the mutual satisfaction of both sides.”We are moving into a new level of cooperation, based on good and sound basis proven with MiG-27 3rd generation and Su-30 fourth generation aircraft.”

Lots of doubt, why India is raising Global tender for FGFA/T50????
