This sentence right here, is why Palestine is in the mess its in. That's the problem with Muslims in general frankly speaking (and similarly with Hindus too), the "supreme being" theme doesn't work. You have to learn to live with others and still manage to negotiate your way out.
If conflict and violence was of effectiveness, you'd have seen a LOT more wars than what's in the history. I don't mean to start the debate here and troll. I am just pointing out. Ego is a Bit*ch. It hurts and causes pain to ordinary people. It should be left out and negotiations should happen in a manner that helps everyone. I am not saying its anyone's fault, I am referring to the mentality where the supreme being concept is sort of ironed in.
