Mate i have been involved in politics for the past 17 yrs. , ever one here knows i an a Maharashtra pradesh congress worker. i have seen and worked 3 general elections and 4 assembly elections. i know about all types of backroom deals . but to say rao was involved is wrong. i know other congress ministers at the time who were glad it happened . but rao ... nope.!!!!!

Look what they are saying now....When afzal was not hanged, they tried to portray it as `minority appeasement`. These BJP RSS workers intruded every where and flooded facebook and emails with tons of post saying afzal is not being hanged just because of this. Congress was clearly loosing vote because this. Despite this they considered national interest, sake of kashmir they avoided this. But now, look what they are doing..they fell on BJP trap.

as far as hanging of Afzal guru is concerned it was not the right time when Vajpayee ji was the PM due to bad situation in Kashmir plus Vajpaye might have thought let congress execute the hanging which will reduce their Muslim vote bank.
