That is false. Congress has to play aggressive and jingoist to the normal expected behaviour, when decisions like Afzal Guru's execution are the subjects. Because otherwise the saffron brigade will be chipping off their vote. BJP stays put and tries to control its ranks in any decision making. They have this leeway. Also otherwise they loose the facade of Hindutva and will become a Hindu party. So as much as they are after the Congress' *ss to hang Afzal Guru for all the time, they would have acted more prudently and at a better time.

It is probably not even the entire Congress party's policy. Shinde is prone to such stupidity. Remember how he claimed Telangana will be solved in one month and left the state to boil for the entire month.

He is a known Gandhi stooge and if you read the other parts of his autobiography you would not attach much credibility to this theory. After all he could have been PM instead of PVN at that time. At least give credit to the saffronists for what they have achieved. Also remember the state government at that time was headed by BJP. Kalyan Singh filed a freaking affidavit in the Supreme Court that he will take care of the mosque. And you blame the PM of that time?!!

as far as hanging of Afzal guru is concerned it was not the right time when Vajpayee ji was the PM due to bad situation in Kashmir plus Vajpaye might have thought let congress execute the hanging which will reduce their Muslim vote bank.

The last time Kashmir 'burned' was in 2010. Is it not too soon to execute Afzal Guru? Whatever you think, even now Kashmiris are against Indian state. Only they are peaceful. Now the execution will get a few recruits from the young Kashmiris.

India should have waited at least till the old man Geelani died.
