Gujarat cops to get 20 imported superbikes

You know I love the fact that all our official Dilli India Gate, Rajpath type events use Tata Safaris (the beautiful old 3 L one with the classy original grille) as th official ceremonial cars/SUVs?

If as is being reported these 20 bikes are for leading a cavalcade for ceremonial purposes, nothing can beat the shaan and slow dug dug of a Bullet.

I always loved to see those Safaris and you know they look just majestic and stealthy. and yes, although bullet is very nice for escort with its dug dug, but Harley is not bad either. Unless you act like an orthodox parent with strict budgetary controls for your family like @levina ..yeh kharch maat karo!, woh kharch maat karo!

This is ultimate stupidity to say the least,,a complete waste of money.

And our PM is insisting on make in india

My question is why did they have to do it in Gujarat (not as if other states cant afford such luxury) but still why?? and why now?? Just that!!
I feel as if Gujarat has suddenly become the most important state in India. JMHO!

these are to pilot people for Vibrant gujarat summit. Usually it is those cars that pilot the state heads. Using bikes for that purpose only not that catch chindi chors on gujarati streets

Rs 4.1 lakh for each bike is too much.
Though they do have high resale values and many countries do use Harley davidson bikes for their police ,but I guess this change should have been brought about in Delhi where the crime rate is much higher.

Its all about image makeup,You don't get invited to a exclusive club without a tie and a suit,likewise this is all about Brand Marketing of Vibrant Gujarat,Gujjus are good businessmen and marketers as modi said,"China karti utna jyada nahin,lekin dikhata bahut kuch hai", likewise same there here,So nothing wrong in purchasing a few superbikes.
Why is that everytime India makes a big project or purchases , every country wants us to be frugal and not waste money on such things at the same time these countries advertise in India to buy their products isn't that hypocrisy of those countries?
ISRO is a textbook case, it seems their propaganda of frugality and sermonizing Indians has embedded into Indian mind recently, everytime some big project is undertaken,our own people call it waste of money due to constant propaganda of western nations.

1. Tata safari has low mileage. Dicor is better though,but maneuverability still remains bad.
2. Drives in Tata safari and scorpio 're comparable ,scorpio is more nimble.IMO
3. Tata's are very "well known" for their after sale service. (I know Mahindra is equally bad).

1. Tata safari has low mileage.

Don't be a chindhi kanyaan. You don't buy an elephant and feed it peanuts. Buy an Alto instead.

Dicor is better though,but maneuverability still remains bad.

Except for the turning radius, its a lot more stable and poised than the rocking boat Scorpio for sure.

The Scorpio is an overgrown jeep and in terms of size class is a whole class segment below a full size SUV like the Safari. The fact that you would compare the two means something.

3. Tata's are very "well known" for their after sale service. (I know Mahindra is equally bad).

The after sales is hugely improved. See the JD Power surveys of this year. Better than many of the MNC brands as well. Its basically reverse racism to talk down our own brands and take crap at gold prices from the firangs.
