Greek Airforce is receiving F16V

The first two-seat F-16D to undergo V-version upgrade work at the Hellenic Aerospace Industry facility made its maiden flight yesterday. The aircraft performed a short flight during which some observations were recorded.
With the flight test program completed, the plane is expected to be delivered to the Hellenic Air Force next week. This is the 3rd successively upgraded F-16V that will return for operational use, attributed to the strength of the 115th Fighter Wing.

The specific planes, two single-seaters and two two-seaters, are designated "kitproof", represent the two versions Block 52+ and Block 52+ Advanced that underwent the upgrade work and based on them, the work will be carried out from here on out on the remaining 78 planes.

Actually the initial Rafale order was for 18 Rafale,but the Air Force decided to make them 24.

Out of these 24 Rafale F3R,half will be slightly used but in great condition ex-French Air Force ones and the rest will be brand new.

About 83-84 Hellenic Air Force F-16 Block 52/52+/52+ Adv. will be upgraded to F-16V.

The upgrade of the F-16s to F-16V was decided during the SYRIZA-ANEL government,but the Rafale deal was made by the New Democracy government,after the 2020 crisis with Turkey.

France was the only country that supported us politically and diplomatically back then,when the Americans were still kind of neutral and the Germans said nothing.
