A very bad decision by Turkey. Now they are struggling to get even F16

What is so bad about the S-400 decision? The actual bad decision is to be reliant on sources that are sanction and blackmail prone. You can have the biggest F-35 fleet in the world. What good is such a fleet if you rely on others for spares? We already know that countries like Turkey are not going to be accepted by US/NATO. Having US/NATO hardware is risky and foolish.

Turkey has gained lot of know-how and insight after participating in the F-35 project. Turkey is busy with its own 5th gen project. They are seeking more advanced F-16 fighters as a stopgap.

The Americans and Europeans want to include Sweden and Finland in the EU gang. Turkey has veto power and is making full use of it. Pakistanis fold in front of the Americans. BLA and other terrorists are given refuge in Sweden and other European cities. Turkey won't accept PKK terrorists in European capitals including Sweden. We shouldn't confuse our weakness with others.

That's the problem,they are very expensive and unless the Americans have some offer or are willing to significantly reduce the costs,I don't know if we should get them. The Navy also has a lot of ships to replace. But the Air Force wants to retire the Phantoms.
