Greater game - Traping Pakistan

Then learn to make money at home. It would be a good time to start right about now.

Not only that it will drive down the cost of labour so construction will be quicker and cheaper. We will see skylines being built up more rapidly. They will be more skilled so work will also be better quality.

they are going to the Gulf states because it is hard to make money at home
in the intermediate term it will lead to balance of payment issue forcing more deals with the IMF

They are going out of convenience. Might have to work a little harder but desi are resourceful people. I am confident.

No country can afford 3 M people immediately deport from the arab.... we don't have other options but to involve in conflict. Situation is changing in the region. Russia immediately withdraw from the sanction and selling S300 AA System to Iran also agreed on more weapons. Behind this yemen conflict the greater game is to trap Pakistan with Iran like west did before with Iran and Iraq (Shia Sunni Conflict). It will disaster but hope Pakistan must have counter plan of fire-back. This game is not limited btw Iran or Saudia...

Your thought?
Pakistan army think tank must have some plan.

there is a difference between making $2000 a year and $10,000 a year. It is not convenience.
Working harder does not make you $10,000 in India/Pakistan

Stand your ground, let them deport. If we can suck in 7 million uneducated Afghans, we can make better use of 3 million skilled Pakistani workers.
but remittance....?

the only thing then left is successful Karachi opeartion, apprehension of economic 'terrorists' and development of Gawadar

Now I am 100% sure that the 3 Million Pakistanis working in Middle East will be back very soon. And as I told earlier that GoP should make urgent arrangements to let these 3 Million Pakistanis to go from Middle East Directly to West or else where and not become a liability on Pakistan.

Pak should prepare to send the 3 Million Pakistanis to Western countries.

1) No one is kicking out 3 million people. I'm reading this thread and getting a kick out of it.This isn't the last fight in the globe. The World will go on to live, centuries past this issue. These guys might be ticked off by Pakistan, but you also realize its the eventual Pakistani guarantee to the KSA, which is stopping an all out assault by Iran on many of these smaller countries??? And what makes you think these Arabs will cut ties with Pakistan and then sing songs when they get devoured by Iran and others.......remember, the "ummah" depends on Pakistan as I've heard it so many times. I think in this situation, it may be true.

2) The amount of attention Pakistan is getting from these Arab countries is crazy. After the US, this is the next best force thing they want to use, obviously, much cheaper war machine with tons of experience fighting in small towns with militias and guerrilla forces. So they need Pakistan, like a child. When a child needs someone's attention, he'll try to be nice, cry, kick, throw stuff and do whatever. Doesn't mean he won't see his parents or loved ones again and will go live somewhere. This is all temporary. Arabs know it and Pakistan knows it too.

3) As a nuke power, you have a status in this conflict, you should own up to it. Worst case, send your army to ONLY protect KSA's borders. Not to join the fight. There is a huge strong and hidden message behind that for Iran and others. Trust me, they'll get it.

4) Pakistan should actually broker the peace deal and get both the parties to settle and stop the fight. Pakistan's height is already grown a LOT by this decision. Being a power broker will make it indispensable for he Arabs for the future. And it will create a LOT of respect for Pakistani workers there. It'll become clear as to who's the "real" daddy if you will.

I wonder if the trap is just inherent to the situation, not deliberate. From way across the ocean, this looks like the beginning of the Islamic 30 Years War's open conflict phase.

I have no idea where this thing is going to end up. I don't think the participants themselves can know. So the caution shown on these boards is not misplaced. On the other hand, these kinds of situations have multiple ways of sucking in connected observers - I would certainly expect it to reach into Pakistan's own sectarian divisions over time. That's why the board members who say that Pakistan may be involved whether it wants to or not should get a serious hearing. At the very least, there should be a thought-out plan for intervention as a "Plan B."

J. Shah seems to have some interesting ideas, but you have to commit to intervention before it makes sense. I don't envy Pakistan's choices. Then again, I don't envy anyone's choices in this war.

I don't think those lazy bums will go so far as to mass deport. All they want is to drink in oil all day while cheap labor clean the residue they leave behind. Every so often they wish a trigger happy adventure which in the long run has the potential to ruin their luxurious lives.

Even if they do deport workers be they cheap labor or educated employees, it will create a sense of fear among other nationalities. They and their respective countries may but most probably might not tolerate similar treatments and may take preemptive steps for example look for countries with relatively better job security. Following the huge gap created, investors may view instability which can in turn cause more troubles for them.

And if they prove to us yet again how stupid they can be, returning might not be a very bad thing after all. With the huge demand of employment and anger within them, govt. might be compelled to take extra ordinary steps to cope with the situation.

But thats just my take on the whole deport idea.

India will favour Iran.We know Shias are good, peaceful and progressive people.
Besides, India and Iran share a long bond historically, both are ancient Civilizations(Bharat and Persia) before some Barbarians invaded.

That is a clever answer. Not to say that Pakistan can not absorb 3 million people back, but here is some back of the envelope calculations.

Now Saudis can not throw out every one overnight as it will cause their GDP to suffer. They will have to replace them over an extended period of time with local workers for mundane jobs. Very high skilled jobs as well as for wage slaves, will be replaced by other foreign workers. But this all takes time.

In this event, Pakistan will see its unemployment rate to go up by perhaps three percent if all these 3 million return to Pakistan, due to the frictional unemployment and as per Okun's law Pakistan will have to increase its GDP by 6% to absorb them all. This would be about, 14 billion dollars increase in current GDP of Pakistan.

To do this, Pakistan will need a few billion dollars in investment as well as solving the energy crisis in order for industries increase their output and jack up the GDP. China can help with investment part. They are sitting on a 4 trillion dollar foreign reserves. And you know who can help Pakistan to overcome energy demands ;).

As they say. Every problem has a solution.

* We are getting $50 billion dollars investment injected into our economy by China
* Pakistan's GDP growth is stable at 4% and growing
* Our credit rating has been upped by Moodys to 'positive'
* Stability is bringing many investors back
* Iran & Turkamanistan gas pipelines, Thar coal project, Solar farms & the plan to build 30 nuclear reactors will fix our energy shortage permanently leading to broad industrial growth.

Sucking back those 3 million highly skilled citizens is not a big issue if planned and executed properly.

With China on our back & our energy issues being sorted out by two gas pipelines, Thar coal & 30 reactors in the pipeline, we can 'sit out' this conflict. Its better for Arabs and Persians to not drag a nuclear power into the conflict anyway, it will destroy their calculated projections and the outcome will be much more horrific than originally planned with no clear winners.

Agreed all the way. The total investment that China ALONE plans to do over the next 3-5 years into Pakistan, exceeds $ 150 billion!! Soon, Pakistan will become an extension of the Chinese manufacturing hub. China has a rapidly growing senior citizen population and the labor is needed.

For example Haier and Huawei are already putting manufacturing plants in Pakistan, providing full TOT on Smart Cell Phones and Laptops. This will establish a new local semiconductor market for Pakistan, where it won't need to buy phones, laptops or other technology from the outside, producing many billions (just one example). Same advance mobile, smaller tech is used in Healthcare, Tablets, Research, Defense, etc.

For the Chinese, outsourcing $ 300-500 billion worth of industry to Pakistan will only help diversify their control over the globe as they'll use much younger, sharp labor and will still take their strategic ally's economy to top 20 in the next 10-15 years. Another Singapore called Pakistan is in makings, only much more powerful militarily.

So why get your hands dirty with the Arab mud, when you can wear a suite and never have to touch the dirt and still be successful??

Hi,
it reminds of rather indecent but more suitable ''saying'' to the current situation

Dou rupyay ki Handi gayi, Kuttay ki zaat pehchani gai

codent agree more brother.

ok for instance pakistan put boots on ground in yemen.. despite all experience got in counter insurgency, this would be different...
1. Yemen would be more like karachi, rather than northern tribes.
2. IN pakistan, MI is involved during army operation plus various other military and civilian agencies and in yemen it would be locals intelligence agencies.
3. Public opinion must be against rebels.
Do we have any biological weapons? bcz in this scenario this kind of weapons suit best..like a wide spread flu aur other less fatal disease. Thsi can make rebel weak and any advancing army in position to fight poor healthy rebels..
@Rajput_Pakistani @Green Arrow @Horus
I wanted to make a new thread but wanna be sure its logical to post as thread, first
Yemen is not Karachi like, its almost like South Waziristan or Balochistan like terrain. Its a very large Country, with huge coastline. There is a mess of internal divide on political, tribal and sectarian basis.
The country is a tribal one, where majority of population is armed. Many has built in cave housing, where expensive air strikes can't do a crap.
Like Afghans, they have a habit of fighting among themselves, and as soon as some external element join in, they start fighting with that. Arabs in arab land is a different thing, while Pakistan as an Ajami will be huge No-No for locals there.
Regarding using non-conventional weaponry, mind you that many Countries in the world are waiting for that one mistake from Pakistan. Which will give them an excuse to finish off Pakistan strategic assets.

We better keep ourselves far off from Yemen, let the tribes there sort out the things among themselves. In my opinion, it is better to divide South & North yemen, and make separate countries. Sooner or later it will happen on the grounds of Sudan divide.
