So no surprise there.

I think you just read the headline and started bashing...... if you read carefully " Tasmic food" included onion and Garlic also which has been barred from eating to Jain people (not according to Hinduism, by the way they are also minority).Now as far i understand this letter is from Jain student who may not get Jain food thats why he wrote letter to HRD ministry and on that letter HRD ministry ask for action report as may they seek the status of "Jain food at IIT mess"...

That Jain fellow is a GRAIN TRADER from MP who probably never saw a IIT campus in his lifetime. He has nothing to do with IITs. IIT campuses do serve vegetarian food, did you think they make vegetarian students gulp down chicken tikka?
