Excess Defense Articles would probably be the cheapest way to get the best protection even if they use a lot of fuel. Our soldiers lives are worth it.

400 are less we need 4000 or more all along western borders

Even used F-16 C/Ds with a MLU will be better then forcing our pilots to fly 50 year old Mirages. Considering the hundreds of F-35s rolling off the production line in the US, there maybe hundreds of F-16s to choose from in the coming years.

4000 Armored cars sounds about right. The US use to have nearly 11,000 MRAPs in Afghanistan. So 4000 would probably be a fair number considering our troops don’t face as high/numerous a threat along the western border.

Yes, better late than never, but we lost literally thousands of soldiers to ieds over the last decades, because of the lack of will or concern at the top. The troops were a sitting ducks, waiting to be hunted down in cold blood by the terrorists, which resulted in demoralizing the troops and encouraging the terrorists.

No new or used F16s are ever likely to find their way to Pakistan, at least not without some major concessions from pakistan on things that matter to the US. Any further speculations on this subject are futile.
