What's new

Good News....Pak troops will have armored vehicles in hostile territories inside Pakistan.

.
Good news but how long we will continue to buy weapons or buy used weapons? It's time to try to make everything at home. Pakistan is far behind from other countries when it comes to indigenous weapons. Buying these weapons can solve problem temporarily.

Even used F-16 C/Ds with a MLU will be better then forcing our pilots to fly 50 year old Mirages. Considering the hundreds of F-35s rolling off the production line in the US, there maybe hundreds of F-16s to choose from in the coming years.

4000 Armored cars sounds about right. The US use to have nearly 11,000 MRAPs in Afghanistan. So 4000 would probably be a fair number considering our troops don’t face as high/numerous a threat along the western border.

We should buy all this stuff they're scrapping.

Finally I hope they get some good ones from Turkey and South Africa and other countries with TOT. We need them and need them fast.
I feel it's an EDA stock from Afghanistan

What happened to Pakistani made MRAP type vehicles, using local can be a good start, even for local Industry and economy.

Confirmed news...

Good news?? It maybe news but what is good about it??
Good news will be when we hear that there are no 'hostile territories inside pakistan' for our own soldiers.

Strait group is one of the best option available to us. It has at least three MRAP which offer protection upto STANAG 4569 Level 3. We can request or with group to take protection to level IV.

Even USA police uses them. Even forces in Europe has them. There is no ideal place. Yes we have eliminate insurgency but even against common criminals like raiding to arrest a murderer or a known wanted criminal Armored vechiles should lead the operation.

If this news is about the recent EDA deliveries this year of some <200 vehicles (maxx pro + one more type) from Afghanistan , then its not going to do any good.

.
Most of the locally manufactured MRAPS require to import these engines and other equipment and accessories.

If military defense procurement agency is procuring the used MRAPS, then these must be available at throw away price. Another reason must be urgency of demand due to exiting internal and external threats.
