if indian ruppee comes back to below 45 or even 40 like before, india would be at no 7 or 8 and will be soon overtaking brazil. brazil is only growing 3% while india admist slowdown is at 7%. but anyways i believe both ways have their own importance to measure gdp.

japans economy is shrinking and only 2 economies in asia that are growing and are big are india and china. asian century just means that the worlds biggest economies of this century are supposed to be asian. yes thats true, but american will dominate heavily for the coming decades. no country is yet even close to them.

so what man. their economies are developed and ours are developing. economy of a developed country is a factor of it population. both india china and entire africa and most south east asia is yet to achieve what they have achieved.

for example only 5% of indian population is connected to the indian financial system compared to almost 100% american. even still indian banks and financial institutions and psu and private sector are growing at record profits are some of the worlds biggest. india is already 3rd largest gdp by ppp. just imagine when 100% of indian population gets connected to the financial world and starts living in cities.

Things are not going well right now but FDI is increasing we seen news of IKEA, Coca-Cola and now Japanese car companies investing in India which shows that in the long term they see India as a safe bet.

Rupee falling does mean NRI's will find it cheaper to buy property in India as well making exports cheaper and more tourist as they will get better rate but the economy will recover in October time.
