The problem is not just the leadership. But the caste system that separate people base on background rather than merit. Foreign investors start to realize that India might not achieve the economic development equivalent of East Asian countries such as Japan, Korea or Taiwan and instead be in perpetual poverty.

Thats a intresting question there is a concept of being atheist or agnostic in dharmic religions like Buddhism and Hinduism but this being India it is still a very spiritual country with millions of people who are very religious. My view is that religion is a personal matter for oneself and their maker, I am of the view that the the state should not interfere in such matters but the concept of democracy means the parties need votes and will use religion as a tool to gather those votes there lies the problem.

Well in the long run investors are seeing India as a good place for FDI as you saw in the news with IKEA, Coca-Cola etc investing billions as they see the bigger picture for long term gains not just short term. Actually leadership is lacking in India and corruption which we have alot of is making matters worse but the biggest problem is infrastructure and that needs to be addressed.

West is history as it rose a century ago... Asian civilizations ruled in a highly skewed manner for more than 3000 years.

But African elites are much worse than Indian elites. Its OK if the Dalits go down because the 200 million Indian elite top tiers will bring India into the 21st century. I'm serious. Its much better to have a small group of ultra elites supported by a big base, than to have a slightly smaller base that's slightly better though still starving, but no elites.

For instance, Taiwan before 1980's didn't really have alot of domestic research, and instead focused on strong high school and 4 year college education so Taiwanese scientists could be educated by US grad schools, and when they returned, they'll become the core of a new academia. That was so that the top elites would get access to the resources they needed to succeed.

loll there is not elite and that bull **** here, according to recent reports by economic times india dalit millionares are the fastest growing millionare groups in india. there are 1000s of dalits who are building coompanies and becoming millionares. why do u have to trol when u dont know jack about india. indian govt has given special seats to dalits in top indian institutes.
