Ghaher 313 fighter

Qaher is a bad joke. Not worth the effort to discuss it, or even analyze it.

OK, so when is IRAN coming up with an operational Ghaher 313? Or atleast a fully developed proto-type?

One genuine answer :

To make a 5th generation aircraft is a VERY,VERY,VERY,VERY complicated task in high-tech industrial setting...

How come Iran has made a 5th generation fighter? Do Iranians honestly believe that they have superior capabilities than China, U.K, France, Sweden etc?

Please reply

There is a status of hate against Iran.
When the color of their submarine is mocked, their fighter will be definitely mocked.
I have spent 5+ years of R&D in object detection/signal and image processing by sound/ultrasound. The comments against Iranian submarines are mostly wrong, and based on sarcasm/hate. So I wont be surprised to see the aerodynamic/avionic comments on Ghaher are wrong too.

@500 How come you know avionics, aerodynamics, radars, sonars, subs? and you are a biomedical engineer.

color of the submarine was well-chosen.

why are all reactions gone?

It's not meant to be a true 5th generation fighter if at all. If a prototype comes out, and it is likely given the fact they've already produced a decent mockup, you'll see it'll be more of a cheap, subsonic, low altitude jet fighter with a similar role to the Su-25 or the German HE-162. Something with short range, STOL, relatively low observability and a large anti-ship payload. Designed for asymmetric attacks, it'll be a cost-effective weapon system for the Persian Gulf.

They could even add unmanned capability to it like the Chinese have done with their aging J-6 fleet.

Makes more sense than spending billions on a limited number of subpar 5th gen fighters that will be decimated in a conventional engagement.

The head of Iran aerospace mentioned to the air intake position in f-313 in an interview on the unveil day . He told that this design was very especial and except that B2 and RQ-170 that there air intake are above wing and body(this is not any problem for them because they are not fighter), there is no any other example.
He also told that for angle of attack more than 20 degree especial design had been done to eliminate choking problem. He also told that this design is unique and reduces RCS a lot. But what is this especial design, I don't know. In fact nobody expects that they put the details on internet to prove their claim.
But about the control panel, the cockpit size,... and thing like these, we can't judge about them based on some photos or a short clip of it's mock up.

that answers nothing, he says "this design was very especial", "for angle of attack more than 20 degree especial design had been done" thats means absolutly nothing, i can show u a brick and say it fights airbattles better than a f-22 because it has "special design" but that doesnt make it true.

the physics says such as design will not work, does iran have magic to counter physics now? no one expects a full disclosure of the "special design" but even the most secretive militarys such as china and Russia have good reasons for their design choice and those reasons make sense without giving away sensitive info, they dont just go with "its a special design", for example, the russians say they use a radar blocking intake for their pak-fa to make up for the lack of s-curve intakes, it might not be the best solution but physically and (known) technology does allow one to do this. the chinese j-20 seems too large to be a fighter and has canards, but again the explanation makes sense, the tails are all moving thus allowing them to be small, making the plane seem large when in fact its comparable to the su-27 in size, the canards only maneuver during wvr combat where stealth has already be compromised

theres nothing in the mockup thats shows any solutions to said problems, and iran has not shown any technology that can overcome the limitations and problems. and simply saying the design reduces rcs alot also doesnt make it true. the j-20 has been modeled and simulated and shown by foreigners to be a true stealth design, and it follows all the known rules, such as smooth surfaces and general guildline of the reflective surfaces lining up. the f-313 does not follow these known rules at all.

further more there is the matter of capability, how many super computer does iran have to throw at the design? what sealth coating could iran even use? what is irans capability with regards to composits comapred to say, china, russia, USA? again for the 3 we have answers, we know china has engines production problems but we also know that china can test currently on ws-10 or al-31 engines(tuned for higher output but lower lifespan) and is putting in intensive efforts on ws-15 engines. whats iran got?

"we can't judge about them based on some photos or a short clip of it's mock up."

but in fact we can. there are shots/video of a person sitting in the cockpit giving us a relative size of everything, and it does not match up to what a real plane/mockup should be.

sir,are you aware that this design has been successfully tested in wind tunnel?

well the lack of supercomputers means nothing , you can use distributed computing . by the way I wonder how many supercomputer USA used in designing f-117 or f-22 at 70s and 80s ?

by the way our Supercomputers may not be top of the line but they are in top 500 list .and Amir-Kabir University built its first Supercomputer 10 years ago (it was based on Athlon 64 CPU from AMD and it was for meteorological simulations) and just in 2011 we made 2 more Supercomputer one by Amir-Kabir University and one by Esfahan University of Technology (Both of them are Based on AMD Opteron Processors) and at the beginning of 2012 deputy of minster of science announced 9 more Supercomputer will be made and they are to operate as base of our national networks.
Iran to present 9 domestically made supercomputers

Iran claims two new supercomputers
Iran unveils supercomputers
Just Omit those rubbish 40GHz speed the writer of the article didn't knew what he is writing about.
and this is video about the Supercomputers that have been made in 2011

take it easy
as you know somone s brain worthes more than 5 bilions $ because that never has worked.

every awake human will see iran s progression in all asppects soon.

well won't it be easier to answer my question directly instead such cryptic ways? Do you believe the Aerodynamics of a RC model is different than one of a Real Airplane ?

Yes bro , the aerodynamics of a real aircraft are totally different from that of an RC model. This is not even a matter of debate. You can make some inferences using a small scale model in the wind tunnel about the real aircraft, but that's only up to a certain extent. Airflow near real aircraft is much more complex. Hell , If everything was so easy ,one would just build toys, test them in the wind tunnel , and then just build a large scale model.

well , by what you are saying the all the philosophy of wind tunnel s mute.

by the way even if you made a scale plane or RC model or mock up of a plan Aerodynamic would be the same if the shape is the same .and for that RC model we even used Jet engine so other forms of engine don't distort our calculation by changing how air move around the model
