What's new

Geography Now (Pakistan)

. .
Thanks for sharing it. Love it. For too long we have ignored our glorious 9,000 years heritage which was openly 'stolen' by our neighbours. Nice to see the awakening.
Pakistan's history is more than 9000 yrs old since Mehr Garh caves date back to 7000 BC which easily mean 9000+ years but I think, this is just the tip of the iceberg..we are discovering our history in bits and pieces and even this is without any serious & concerted effort by the govt of Pakistan. Rather, our lethargy has let the thieves and robbers in Gangadesh to steal our history and civilisation.
I agree with you that it is slowly changing since the social media has given the tools and access to the knowledge of the outside world which our corrupt & incompetent bureaucracy/govts had kept out of reach.

Yet it has one of the oldest civilization in the history of mankind.

What is so special about those old towns
they are just graveyards nothing more
Pakistan don't have to rely on these graveyards to prove anything Pakistan is reality
@Indus Pakistan any reason for your interest in these graveyards

I think you should better read and do not introduce yourself as a loser on the forum by stupidly using the word graveyards for historical sites. How can you call them graveyards? if you have no idea then step out of your cave and visit the nearest graveyard or Shamshan ghat whatever is closer to your house. I think Ganga is not that far from your geolocation.

I call them graveyards because they are graveyards
Word mohenjo daro means city of dead and city of dead is called graveyard

If you follow this channel you know this episode is going to be awesome specially for Indians, he just roasted them by posting 9000 years of history of civilization of Pakistan on his insta account. When the full episode will drop the comment section will be flooded with indians.
He used to be quite anti Pakistan .
Don't know if you expect anything good from him.
Maybe for views and subs.
But do this silly video on YouTube Needs a thread or do we need to verify our histroy through the comment section of some random video?

9000 years of Pakistan civilization?
until few centuries ago Pakistan was like a dessert
Land was always there.
Whatever happens in the land that is now Pakistan is pakistan's history .

Are you like real.
Remove the pyramids from Egypt and show me their tourism potential. Afterall what pyramids are fancy tombs ...
Why you are so against preserving tye past.

The name of the city is unknown as we have not been able to understand the script. So it is called mohenjo daro meaning necropolis in local language. People assume that mohenjo daro is the name of the city where as it is not . Mohenjo daro only meant graveyard or city or graveyerd .
But we have failed to not only preserve the city but also not able to uncode the langauge to understand their true name and way of life . They are not Hindus as claimed by Indians . They are very modern society by their standards . Nothing has been found about what they worship . Some people they don't worship anything but others belive the do worship elements and seasons Or clay gods .
They are our ancesstors and we must preserve the ancient histroy of the lands we live in.

Looking at the current people of the area I think this is most likely

Agr meray bas main hota to kardeta

I know this all this was taught to us in social studies
Trust I have met people like you all my life Infact people like you are in majority. who don't understand the our ancient history and our past and want to erase it.
Even from Islamic point of view you see those pyramids and those mummies are there as an example till the end of times for the people to see that with all their might they can't escape from the wrath of God and their mummies would be example for the people.
Don't know how this extrimist mindset has penetrated in our society . For example a thousand years old Buddha on a rock in some remote place, who can it a danger to your Islam and your Muslim Ness . Or by breaking its head you become a true Muslim.
There are many other things too in Islam. Even Islam forbades destroying other religious sites that are important for non Muslims.
And we always take the extreme action. What different are you from a taliban. First you want to destroy the stone carving next you want to a kill 150 children in school.
Or you hate people who don't agree with your point of view.
Not eveyone has interest in history, nor everyone like ancient ruins . But this extremist THOUGHT that just without anything to do with Islam and just because of their own version of Islam they think they are right and must destroy everything and of not destroy then hate the people preserving it .
The mindset needs to be changed.
Yes I have met the locals . They are Muslims only by names. Specially in villages. They don't know Islam in true sense. All they do is go on melas or visit shrines . But still you won't discount them as non Muslims.
Any one who believes in Allah and his last prophet whether non practicing you cannot judge him, maybe he would have guidence later in life.
Maybe you pray 5 times a day and have more Islamic knowledge then other and consider others beneath you . But if you follow true Islam even that is not allowed.
You simply cannot judge anyone.

And you must have read different social studies book. We were taught that name of the place is mohenjo daro as most of the people are taught. Whereas it is not the name. It is a name given by the locals .

I can understand your frustration, I am also like you I have no interest in the "history" of some dead people 5000 years or 9000 years ago. I don't feel I have anything to do with those people, all the BS of "Aryan" , "greek", "saka" etc. doesn't fascinate me at all.
For me history is like knowing what my "direct" ancestors were doing like 200 years ago or 500 years ago, I think you said that you are "Sial" and I believe you will be interested to know what Sials were doing in Jhang 500 years ago, or what the people living in the villages of Gujranwala were doing 400 years ago, their life style, their customs/traditions that have survived or got extinct. That is the kind of history that I consider "my history" and enjoy reading or listening events related to that.
