1971 was no doubt a debacle, but you have to understand the context...an enemy 7 times our size, an idiotic idea of a country with two land masses with that enemy in between and our troops cut off with a hostile population of millions....it was doomed to fail. Perhaps Hamas believes that kidnapping many Jews will give them an advantage at the negotiating table, they can use hostages as human shields, believe that Israel will have to compromise and do not dare attack Gaza because the safety of the hostages.

But now, Israel does not care much about this issue. Jews only want revenge.

Therefore, the greatest possibility is that Hamas will ask third parties to intervene, and launch media campaigns condemning Israel, putting pressure on Israel to stop the military campaign.

Imagine if Hamas, or any Muslim Arab country flattened out a synagogue what the international outrage would be. Or the victimization of the Jewry would scream?

We even see it in this country when juvies desecrate headstones in Jewish cemeteries. Not only does the local news go bat crap crazy, but national news also covers it as if it's an epidemic. Yet not a single mention of the razing of masjids like this anywhere, let alone mainstream media. Thank goodness for social media and specifically X.

And Hamas is a terrorist organization because we need to divide the Palestinians to create instability and have Fatah, the subservient side agree to our favorable demands. Most people celebrating the success of the attack by Hamas, are doing tactical thinking.

People don’t seem to think of - What now? What if? Would this galvanise liberation of Palestine?

The answers are very very clear even to a hardcore believer or non-believer.

Attack by Hamas was a daring and innovative one. It could have galvanised their movement with support from many quarters, but for few mistakes that they did.

They should have weighed the option of not attacking civilians and focusing primarily on military targets and taking hostage of only military personnel. Few civilians would have still died but not in the way it happened now.

Openly killing civilians and parading the dead specifically women wasn’t a smart move at all.

Some people will justify that to, Israelis killing the civilians. Please remember that this is a unique war and rules aren’t the same for all. Hamas needed to be smarter and orchestrate its campaign with long term gains in sight and not a short one.

I can only say your thinking is very narrow and short term.
