those dont make a difference because they dont apply to what is asked here - gay rights nd gay marriage is among consenting adults. Why do you bring that example of what is not asked specifically by gays?

Those same clerics said at one time if not even today- women should be treated as a commodity in marriage

Those very same folks are the guardian of marraige rights? These women are our mothers, they give us birth and these clerics say and we treat them in that fashion because religion says so?

why atheist feel the need of marriage? Why they cannot live together and make a relationship without a piece of paper without any involvement of priest, moulvi or pundit? Do you need stamp of priest and his wishes and piece of paper for a successful relationship...

I understand the reasons for religious peopels to go to church for marriage ceremonies but i don't see the point for atheist to do this..If a couple cannot have kids, they can adopt kids which will get one father and one mother and as i said before it will not be fair for kid to grow up with two dads or two mothers

Marriage has some legal and fiscal consequences and conveniences. The religious aspect of marriage (at least in this part of Europe) has nothing to do with marriage.

where does it say one father and mother= good for the kid? It says at best that family is best for kids and does not define whether it is one father and mother.

and what'sthat you are saying about atheist -it's not making sense to me . You said that for marriage to take place, it is to take place w/ a preist , cleric etc. I said what about atheist- do they not get married? do they not have childern, are they not good citizens? so why can't gays not get married and adopt too?

Because that way of thinking leads to that.... 20 years ago who thought Gay rights would become universal..... but the slow poisoning that had started in the media took its full affect. Now we see teenage singers, child beauty pageants and dancers (Eden Woods), children in moveis shouting all sorts of profanities (Kick ***).... where is that leading too ?

You may not accept it but maybe your kids will (if you choose to have kids)

I wouldn't use human rights to take a pro gay rights stance, but equality.
The state should treat all civilians equal, no matter man or woman, gay or straight, katholic or muslim etc.

LET's face it- you are uncomfortable about the " sex" part. Most are against because the " Sex" part of gays is replusive to you...but that is not good enough to be anti gay/human rights.

do you know how silly you sound? You were told by whom what would happen to you? the Borg? there are gays all around you, your doctors, scientist, military ... what would happen?
