Ganesha idols adorn Indian town before Hindu festival

Bro am talking about a thought only thought not talking abt people. You are just trying to put meaning by extrapolating things.

Leave it am not trying to talk abt people am only talking abt thoughts and philosophies no religion and people involved. The talk is completely on a philosophical level no people involved.

That must mean Islamic thought is the highest thought in the world since they do not subscribe to idolatory at all. That is the greatest philosophy in the world. Unlike our degraded Hindu philosophy or whatever degraded philosophy we are practising in the name of Hinduism.

Dude whats wrong with you man it was not about any religion i was talking like a realist, rational thinking! for gods sake stop dragging religions in it.

.
This shows the differential treatment for Hindu and Muslim. Hindus allowed to worship their Gods and Muslims disallowed to cut up animals as they usually do in Bakra Eid. As I stated earlier the justice for Hindu is far different from that of a Muslim. Explains why Muslims make up a higher proportion of prison inmates. They are arrested despite committing no crime.

Muslims, dalits and tribals make up 53% of all prisoners in India - The Times of India

You are saying by yourself its Bakra Eid which was started by Prophet Ibrahim.

I am talking like a realist with rational thinking too. How can your rational thinking be divorced from the examples of your rational thought in action in the real world?

Hyderabad to bid a grand adieu to Lord Ganesh, immersion begins | Zee News

Hyderabad: With the auction of the customary "Balapur Ganesh Laddu", the grand event of Ganesh idols immersion began here on Sunday with much fanfare and amid tight security.

The famous "Balapur Ganesh Laddu" (a sweetmeat offered to Lord Ganesh), which went under the hammer for Rs 9.50 lakh last year, fetched Rs 10.32 lakh in the auction this year, the organisers of the two-decade-old tradition said.

"After the beginning of immersion of small idols, the main procession has begun. The entire immersion process is expected to end during the early hours of tomorrow," a police official said.

Over 20,000 policemen, including personnel from central paramilitary forces, have been deployed as part of the massive security arrangements for Ganesh immersion in the city.

Union ministers M Venkaiah Naidu and Bandaru Dattatreya are expected to address the procession at one or two important locations.

Thousands of idols will be immersed in Hussain Sagar lake in the heart of the city and dozens of other lakes on the outskirts, marking the culmination of 11-day-long festivities.

400 CCTV cameras were installed along the main procession route to keep a tight vigil on the proceedings, Hyderabad Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy said.

Nine companies of central paramilitary forces and police forces from Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and other neighboring states were deployed, he said.

More than 50,000 idols have been installed in the limits of Hyderabad and Cyberabad police commissionerates. More than half of them will be immersed in Hussain Sagar lake, where 50 cranes have been installed.

Legend has it that the devas once visited Shiva and Parvati and presented them with a divine modak, with a condition that only the wisest and most knowledgeable had a right to it. Parvati wanted to present it to her sons, but they were unwilling to share it, so she set them a task to go around the world three times. Whoever finished the fastest would win it. Wise Ganesha simply circled his parents, as they were the world to him. Since that day, such has been his love for the sweet that Ganesha is always seen pictured with a modak or a platter of modaks beside him. (Praful Gangurde)

On the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi, a ten day festival celebrating the birth of Lord Ganesha which begins on August 25 this year, enthusiasm swells among devotees in various parts of the country who will bring the elephant headed god home and culminate festivities with the immersion of idols, signifying his return to Mount Kailash to his parents Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. First observed during the Maratha empire set up by Chhatrapati Shivaji in the 16th century, the festival in its present form saw resurgence under Bal Gangadhar Tilak as a rallying ground for people beyond caste and class lines and a means of spreading ideas of nationalism and a sense of unity among the Indian population. Work on the idols begins months in advance with artisans flocking to areas where the festival is celebrated with fervor to sate the heightened demand. A Ganesha idol is worked on by craftsmen while out in the open to dry its plaster. The size and intricacy, as well as the materials used in its making determine the price of the idol. While Plaster of Paris was a go-to option, its negative impact has brought about increased demand for clay based pieces which are eco-friendly, but take considerably longer periods to manufacture. The mouse or a shrew is often seen as the ‘vahana’ or vehicle of choice for the happy-go-lucky god who is considered the destroyer of obstacles. Various interpretations attribute this choice to his symbolic taming of the mouse, a common pest for the agricultural population and also the rodents’ ability to reach nooks and crannies allowing Ganesha expedited access to areas in need.
