Wrt Off Asghar and Wrt Off Muhammad Ghazanfar from PAF were on duty. They were ordered to establish an OP on the top of a water tank and scan the skies for any incoming Indian aircrafts.
It was the early morning when they both heard a humming noise from the east and soon they visualised an incoming IAF Mystere aircraft. As the aircraft was flying at a very low altitude, it identified the presence of a post on the top of water tank. Mystere started firing on the two air men; keeping their enemy in the sight, both Asghar and Ghazanfar grabbed their G-3 Rifles and were ready to fire. Both of them were no match for speed and fire power of the Mystere. The aircraft managed to punch some holes in the water tank and passed. It yanked and turned towards the post of Ghazanfar and Asghar again. Both of them were still standing, keeping the incoming Mystere in their target sight and standing upright. As the aircraft came into the rifle range, they both shot a total of 18 rounds with precision. The plane started oozing black smoke. After going about 2 miles forward, the aircraft crashed into the barren terrain.
Ghazanfar climbed down the water tank and ran towards the crash site. He took a lift from a motorcyclist passing by and rushed towards the crash site. Aircraft was still on fire and the Pilot had died in the crash.
They informed the Air HeadQuarters, which sent a team to the spot to collect the facts. Both Ghazanfar and Asghar were awarded Tamgha-e-Jurrat for this act of valour.

You need to be extremely lucky to be able to take out a fast jet with small arms. In some cases the shooter might not even know of his kill.

Here is an example of a British Harrier GR3 taken out by a most likely a rifle. The bullet hit the main fuel line and the jet started hemorrhaging fuel. The jet could not make it back to the carrier and the pilot had to eject.

Ohh I saw this in a movie once, ohh wait that was Rambo taking out Russian helicopters with a machine gun.

To bad, Pakistani soldiers didn't leap from the water tower and jump into the cockpit of the aircraft, and rest the controls from the pilot, now that would been some good fiction.

This tactic was later loaned to Afghan Mujahideen before the stingers arrived. They would muster in formation of 4-8 men armed with AK47s and attack jets, transport aircraft and helos flying within range. They used to target transport aircrafts and helicopters more often while they were taking off or landing.

Water tank? I have two questions:
Where was PAF by then?
And was every other target already had destroyed, they were only left with shooting on water tanks?

Wow, for both sides.

Wait I watched an Indian movie where a man ( alleged hero) stabs enemies with Banana and also throws chicken which pierces the enemy chest. On one hand I feel like appreciating your imagination, however simultaneously compelled to feel how stupid and ignorant indians are. You must be referring to one such movie made in India.

Well here is the difference, between Indians and Pakistanis.

When Indians write such ridiculous stories, they make a movie and laugh at them, where as, when Pakistanis write such, they make it part of their history and teach it to their children.

True, when Indians make claims of becoming super power by 2012 or start comparing Mumbai with Shanghai world laughs at them .

You seem to be the type of guy who would skip his Pooja to watch Arnab Goswami with undivided attention....after all who else can put such brilliant ideas in your head other than the person who chats live to a gangsters wife.....or maybe the Mystere pilot, whose details are available with PAF, just committed suicide by crashing his aircraft.

An uncle of mine was in the Mujahid corp during the '71 war. He had to walk back to a rear HQ. On the way back a mig-21 came in on a strafing run (not at him). He took cover under a tree.

The mig was flying in a circle, and each time it was within range, my uncle opened up with his G-3. After a while he noticed that the aircraft raised its altitude on its run.

Also in his unit a bren gun team damaged an enemy aircraft. It started smoking and took off home.
