S China with NO experience whatsoever of carrier ops/design and NO freinds willing to share such info is going to be able to produce a catapult system for its carrier which is INCREDIBLY complex and took the US close to a decade to perfect (and even then the system they produced in the early days was very rudimentary, the systems they have no are the product of decades of refinement). And similarly with 0 experience in designing carrier-borne fighters China is going to jump in at the deep-end and design a CATOBAR fighter which involves incredible amounts of experiences and know-how to do and with no freinds and no experience to draw on I can't see how they can do it anytime soon.


If what you say is true then the PLA(N) shouldn't expect their ACC before 2025 and the fighter much later. Carrier aviation/design is incredibly complex and one of the most complicated and arduous tasks a nation can undertake and I doubt even the "omnipotent" Chinese will be able to master this anytime soon.

Seriosly have you even bothered to read the article???? Its not only about the tonnage of the ship! expl:if the Vikramaditya is attacked in the South China sea, she is going to be hacked. If Shi Lang is attacked in the Bay of Bengal, its the other way round.
Other factors are training, tactics and experience, in which India is leading since we used carriers for over 60 yrs
