From Russia With Love? China vs. India Carrier Showdown

Silly topic as Chinese Carriers will all be concentrated towards the Pacific until China can amass a fleet of 3 or 4 carriers. Since that is unlikely in the foreseeable future, it seems very silly to predict a India vs China showdown.
Indian fleet is basically a regional IOR fleet. So, for us 2 carriers on both sides of the seaboard will be enough. The IAC 2 will be the ocean going force projector.
Since the Chinese have the mighty USN as an adversary, they can't concentrate on the IN for atleast 10-15 years more.....

Then how we are going to get our hands on CATOBAR for our ACC ??? I don't think USA will ever sell us that tech

we'll see..they were not prepare to sell anything 14 years ago..now they are offering top quality weapons and spares..they offered F-35,P-8I,MQ-4C...CATOBAR is a much older tech than that i guess... :D

CATOBAR is very old tech man..........Even INS Vikrant had it, before she was converted to a STOBAR carrier

Yes much older but we or any of our friends Don't have it :( I think UK have it but we have to take ACC for that
F-35 needs funding. Only think that USA given India is Apache B III. P-8I , MQ-4C are best but not only options right ???

.
Its very clear that Indian navy will have an edge for atleast the next couple of decades ...

Wondering where the Chinese-dragons and beijing walkers are .... wish to hear their point of view too !

DF21 will drop on IN according to some kids on this forum:yahoo:
Level of maturity is hilarious one of the reasons to join this forum..

Experience is always better than hardware. WHats the use of hardware if a person cant use it effectively.
china has the hardware not experience in modern naval warfare as India has at this stage.

Indian carriers will be in the Indian Ocean and Chinese carriers will be in the Pacific ocean.......

LOL @ the Indians with their misplaced optimism.

China has a massive technology lead and we are likely to see 100,000 tonne nuclear Chinese supercarriers by around 2020. These carriers could easily carry around 60 Chinese stealth fighters.

Unless the US sells one to India, then one Chinese supercarrier could potentially take on the whole Indian carrier fleet.

Indians love to have very wet dreams.

It took them this much time just for a refit, and you are talking about a full blown super carrier by 2020, I think you are having too much of a wet dream. They haven't even inducted their J-20 yet and you are talking about a stealth aircraft for the carrier. You should really change those wet pants and bed sheets they are starting to give you some weird dreams.

We will have 3 aircraft carriers to guard all three direction of Indian peninsula.

China is already working on a stealth aircraft for naval use. 2020 is around the time-frame when it should be ready.

You need to get your head round that the world's largest economy economy by 2020, which will be China, will need to construct a Naval fleet to defend it's interests around the world. If this means going toe-to-toe with the US, then so be it.

I am sorry but India is absolutely no match for the Chinese and in 10 years the Chinese Navy will have full dominance over the Indian Navy in the Indian Ocean.

T-50 PAK FA would be ready much before J-20.

How will a 1.8 trillion GDP(India) be able to construct a military to confront a country with a 8 trillion GDP, which is also growing it's GDP quicker?

Why will Indians not understand that China is much more advanced than they are and the gap will only grow larger into the future!

With no experience in maintaining and operating an ACC, and if they are working on a stealth version for naval use then it will be after 2020 that it will be inducted and by then India would already have the T-50, largest economy or not you can't pull an Super-carrier out of your A$$.

Because we are also growing our capability and we don't like others walking in our turf.

China is now gaining the experience with the Varyag and then will also construct two conventional 70,000 tonne carriers soon. This will give around 10 years experience before the supercarriers are ready in around a decades time.

I will scream if any idiot here keeps going on about "experience" again as the US destroyed the far more experienced Japanese carrier fleet in WW2.
