Why 'anglo',do you mean European? Because I think the Anglo-Indian mixes are mostly found around Bengal, not in the South.

If anything, it's Portuguese, which is also unlikely. And the ones that are Catholic Christians, not Orthodox.

Orthodox Christians would not mix with "Anglos", because the Europeans(Catholics) themselves called us heretics, and didn't consider us Christians.

it is not so. coverted Christians are distinctly different. St.Thomas Christians are Forward "Caste" .
the Dutch calvanists,Bible Society of Anglicans and the Pentecostal Cults who have converted in hordes from Ezhava/Billava,Thiyya and Scheduled Tribes and Coastal Folks comes under "CSI" and other 100s of similar protestent churches. There is a Catholic Community for eg: Majority in Cities like Cochin called "Latin Catholics" Who are identified as converts after Vasco de Gama. They are not Syrian Christians.

Syrian Christians are there for thousands of years. they may have mingled with dravidians, the people of the land. not with europeans . Syrian Christians,Namboodiri Brahmins and Nairs/Bunts of Kerala looks similar. I think You need to study a little more. the People and Culture of Kerala Differ from Tamilnadu vastly although the Language rhymes similar. these people are not typical newly converted(for even centuries) caste christians like in tamilnadu and karnataka and elsewhere who identifies with their hindu castes. because they have no past with Hinduism.

I know the Tamil Christians from Tirnelvelli and south and the new age pentecostal cults harvesting in TN and elsewhere India. please don't assume the identity of St.Thomas Christians with Them. they are typically a endogamous community not interested in number game.

Most of the Syrian Christians, or Orthodox Christians are converted Hindus(locals). Like 99.99999% of them, the one's that came from the Middle East by now their descendants are mixed.


We're called "Syrian" Christians, because our prophet(St. Thomas) came from that area.
