At 80-90 mph the wind itself may not cause much damage but the storm surge and down pour will cause serious flooding..

The flooding is the major issue - to worsen the situation, the insurance b****ds will not pay for flooding.
Dude for us south asians who are used to brick, mortar and RCC homes, these bollywoodish wooden houses here are kinda uncomfortable. My home back in TN can see this 10 times over and still be there
That is true- Remember when I was young, a severe cyclone hitting "Madras" and it rained for 4 days and the only thing bothering was the powercut and the flooding of the streets. We stayed put at home playing the game of Monopoly with other kids not worried about anything.
