France recalls Ambassadors from USA and Australia over Submarine Deal !!!

I agree that Europe currently needs Russia for energy supply. Germany did swim against American pressure to accommodate the project. It is possible that other countries in Europe may also be interested in Russian energy supply if it is economically lucrative. But in future, emerging green energy technologies could potentially alleviate this dependency.

I do not see the other alignments that you've proposed as being remotely real. But perhaps the coming times will tell.
Remotely real? America is destroying Islamic countries in Africa and Asia to make dozens of millions refugies to come to Europe. If this is not a threat to Europe then I do not know what to call a threat. You may be not know but Russia has deep cooperation with Europe in science sphere from space to fundamental physics. Russia is not about gas and oil only.

Why are the French getting upset with the US for a decision made by Australia? The US can't force the Australians to ditch the French deal and buy their subs.
Whiny Europoors want handouts from the American tax payers, rob American companies, and now want to be given priority over America for no apparent reason.
The US deal is way better than what the French were (or even have the capability of) providing.

can't blame them . 90 Bn USD business get out of there hand

I dont think its even about the money

what has basically happened is French have been isolated from the rest of the international community

this is what is hurting them

the have areas in Pacific like Micronesia and were thinking tat World cannot operate without them

they thought France is a global leader

a power which has to be included in every international matter

and behind their back without them knowing they heard from media the deal was scrapped due a US defence agreement

this is so embarrassing for them and they have lost too much face and credibility

thats money cant buy

( best to let this cry baby cry it out by ignoring it .. Biden needs to stare down this little french napolean wannabe .. )
The time has come for the next great war. Wolves are turning on each other.

Some very good articles in the Telegraph - all of which seem to end with the Royal "two fingers" to France - worth reading.

Still no word from shameless Indians. If the Indians think they can satisfy France with second hand airframes the Hindutva are mistaken LOL

Don't the French bomb African Muslim countries? Did the Europeans not participate in Afghan war? Russia was suspended from G8 for matching into Crimea; was the US condemned by EU for bombing Syria or Libya? Generally, EU seems to stand with the American position in these type of conflicts under the pretense of standing by democratic values.

The way NATO exited from Afghanistan is not what the Europeans wanted. Trump's attitude of breaking alliances for a more transactional relationship was an irritant; now Biden's move against French interests have resulted in a crisis with France. But other than this, there is no big divide between EU and US.

Personally, I agree with the Russian position in Syria and Libya. But the EU countries have not come out in support of Russia. Instead, EU announced sanctions on Al Bashar and stood with Obama as he started bombing Syria. In my view, Europe seemingly wants US to be the police of the world.

India is just a customer for defence equipment from countries like US, France and Russia. This does not make it obligatory for India to take sides in their conflict. :-)

US was playing a double game on France.

They didn't build them if I'm not mistaken.

Once deal is signed, the manufacturer places orders with suppliers for equipment and material.

All of which needs down payments and breaking the contract will incur penalty.

US, UK and Australia royally cucked France.

Nothing France can do other than huff and puff.

The orders and contracts are in place so France either finds an alternative buyer or bear the cost of cancellation which won't be cheap given its 12 subs. The same happened with the Mistral deal which Egypt ended up buying.
