I learned it from ex-Admiral Cem Gürdeniz.Is there any source for that ? I wasn't able to find any.
He says, ships can be boarded for inspection but;
1-) Boarding side should get permission from the ship's flag country.
2-) Boarding side should get permission from the ship's captain.
He says even in Operation Endeavor which happened after 9/11 for combating terrorism finances in Mediterranean it happened like that.
And i'm saying plus to these rules, we are maintaning 4 Frigates and Replenishment Ship at the coast of Libya, They are there for 3 months at times of Corona.
While..... Coronavirus: 668 infected on French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle
France, Russia, UAE are violating UN embargo...maybe Turkey does it too, who knows.......So Turkey is openly violating an UN embargo and even comitting its armed forces to violate it ? Interesting. And yes many other countries do too. Many countries act without impunity because there's always nobody to enforce UN rules. There's a reason why the GNA is worried.
EU can't protect a member state's "EEZ" (fake EEZ ofcourse), yet alone they will challange Turkish Navy..... i don't think so. No offence but European's are good for making a lot of noise when it comes to action they are no where to be found.[/QUOTE]Anyways,I guess encounters between European and Turkish ships will get funny.
