Flying Into Dhaka- First Impressions of Bangladesh

No offense to anyone here, but BD basically does not have anything to offer in terms of tourism. Snow tipped mountains, deserts, fascinating architectures, ancient ruins, pristine beaches, meadows etc. are the things that most tourists look for. He should not have gone there in the first place.

However, our PDF members will now send pictures of that Cox's Bazaar long beach to attract all the tourists to BD.

I heard its quite dirty and not well maintained, honestly the only thing in BD that can appeal to foreign tourists is Sundarban, even that is not in a good shape.

Oh building schools and universitiies is trivial work :hitwall:
By the way how many bridges and power station are built by Bangladesh since 1971.
Please donot mention PADMAR BRIDGE :cheesy:.
Well the only power station in the country was destroyed in 71 war, that and nearly all bridge in the country was blown up by the mukthis, so those.

Nice :)

Unlike India at least they're not shitting on the streets .

Indians believe their patriotism lies in throwing shit at other countries . This is what they do with Pakistan China Bangladesh Nepal . Losers

Badly maintained but not dirty.Only 2-3 km portion of 120 km long beach is now currently being utilize for tourism purpose. So that 2-3 km portion is somewhat overdeveloped.Rest of the beach is still a virgin territory. This beach is not only the longest unbroken sandy beach in world but also free from shark and poisonous jelly fish, which create havoc in many of the popular beach around the world.

We also have some other beach besides Cox's Bazar, namely Patenga beach in Chittagong city, Kuakata beach in Patuakhali district, Parki beach etc. 18 km long Kuakata beach is one of the rarest place in the Earth where one can see the sun rise and sun set in the ocean by standing in a same spot.

Isn't it a muddy jungle

Isn't it a muddy jungle
Tropical, mangrove forest supposed to be muddy. But this is home of the world famous Royal Bengal Tiger as well as large number of crocodile, spotted dear and other animals.Sunderban is criss-crossed with hundreds of tributary rivers with easy access to all parts by water craft. So one doesn't need to walk in the muddy jungle with his leg.

@Khan_21

What are those pictures supposed to prove?
Of course there is a lot of things that Pakistan
has built with it's own money. This does not mean
it did not take an unfair portion of the revenue during 1947-1971 purely for the benefit of West
Pakistan.

Look, no-one is asking for any compensation here.
Anyway BD is economically stronger than Pakistan now - much faster GDP capita growth rate, larger foreign reserves etc.
Just admit the faults of the old Pakistan and then we can move on.

Isn't it a muddy jungle
It's the largest mangrove forest in the world and one of a kind, one of the ecological hotspots, they share it with India, but then again this is about personal preferences, if you are not much into woods and jungle can't really blame you. This is the exact reason countries with diverse geography tend to attract more tourist, BD is too one dimensional in this regard.

The thing with Mangrove forest is, they are extremely dense and not suitable for safari rides, Sundarban is a treasure to both India and BD and should not be disturbed in the name of tourism IMHO.

Sundarban is under threat from terrorism to nuclear waste to economic tourism.

Its not a place a tiger should be.

Extinction is eventual.

Good, did not know all that, tourism industry is extremely competitive, you guys need to focus on better marketing and advertisements and try to make your country more visible to foreign tourists, not all countries are blessed with natural beauties, you need to make do with what you've got.

What terrorism bro? But yes BD should do more to preserve this ecological treasure house. Please don't be so pessimistic, we have a part of Sundarban too, the extinction will have severe and unimaginable impact on the eco system.:(

We in India try our hardest to protect our National parks, sanctuaries and endangered animals.
