People would recommend Aafia Siddiqui for that matter even though at the end she is a terrorist and nothing less.
The issue is both merit and popularity. Would a female president be a good omen? Yes
Would the majority of the population agree to it? Likely
Would the majority of parliamentarians agree to it? Unlikely... we still have a large majority of pigs elected to parliament from the religious and feudal parties.

president is also the civilian commander of the armed forces(on paper), wonder how well a woman will do. most importantly some in the paliament wont agree, better have someone all can agree on without causing problems.

A.Q khan is no more hero.He has ruined reputation of a Pakistan by selling nuclear secret in black market. He is old and should take rest. We need non- controversial president candidate. We have to live with world.
If PTI selects AQ as president , then we are going towards sanctions.

A President has to be:

• A citizen of Pakistan.
• A Muslim.
• At least 45 years of age.
• Qualified to be elected as member of the National Assembly

The person doesn't have to be in the NA, just qualified to be NA. Remember Zardari was not part of NA when he became President.
