A suspected US drone killed up to six people when it fired on an Islamic seminary in Pakistan's north-western region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa early on Thursday, authorities have said.



Fareed Khan, a police officer, said the unmanned aircraft fired at least three rockets at the madrassa in the Hangu district, killing two teachers and three students just before sunrise on Thursday. Other reports said six people died.



An intelligence source told the Reuters news agency that Sirajuddin Haqqani, the leader of Taliban-linked Haqqani network, had been spotted at the seminary two days earlier.



It is one of the first drone attacks to occur outside Pakistan's remote tribal region and could increase tension between Islamabad and Washington. Most drone strikes occur in North Waziristan, a stronghold of the Taliban.



The attack took place a day after Pakistan's foreign policy chief, Sartaj Aziz, was quoted as saying Washington had promised not to conduct drone strikes while the government tries to engage the Taliban in peace talks. The US has not commented on Aziz's remarks.



The previous drone strike in Pakistan, on 1 November, killed the Pakistani Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud in the militant stronghold of Miranshah in north-west Pakistan.



The identities of those killed on Thursday were not immediately clear.A police officer said the bodies of those killed were burned beyond recognition.

ہنگو: (دنیا نیوز) امریکی ڈرون طیاروں نے پہلی بار ہنگو میں حملہ کیا ہے۔

تحصیل ٹل میں ڈرون طیارے نے مدرسہ دارالعلوم قرآن کو نشانہ بنایا۔ ڈرون طیارے نے مدرسے پر تین میزائل فائر کئے جس سے مدرسے کے 2 اساتذہ مولوی احمد جان، مولوی حامد اللہ افغانی اور 3 طالبعلم جاں بحق ہو گئے۔ حملے میں 5 طالبعلموں کے زخمی ہونے کی اطلاعات ہیں۔

جاں بحق افراد کی تعداد میں اضافے کا خدشہ ہے۔ ہنگو میں ڈرون طیاروں کی پروازیں جاری ہیں جس سے لوگوں میں خوف وہراس پایا جاتا ہے۔

خیبرپختونخوا میں ہونے والا یہ پہلا امریکی ڈرون حملہ ہے۔

مقامی پولیس نے ہلاکتوں اور زخمیوں کی تصدیق کر دی ہے۔ غیر ملکی میڈیا کے مطابق اس حملے میں حقانی نیٹ ورک کے ایک مدرسے کو نشانہ بنایا گیا۔ یہ حملہ شمالی وزیرستان کے قبائلی علاقے کے سے ملحق صوبائی انتظامیہ کی نگرانی کے ضلع ہنگو کی تحصیل ٹل میں کیا گیا۔

واضع رہے کہ گزشتہ روز سینیٹ کی قائمہ کمیٹی برائے خارجہ کے اجلاس میں مشیر خارجہ سرتاج عزیز نے دعویٰ کیا تھا کہ امریکا نے یقین دہانی کروائی ہے کہ حکومت اور طالبان کے درمیان امن مذاکرات کی کوششوں کے دوران مشتبہ شدت پسندوں کیخلاف کوئی ڈرون حملہ نہیں کیا جائے گا۔ سرتاج عزیز نے قائمہ کمیٹی کو بتایا کہ امریکہ کو مطلع کیا جا چکا ہے کہ رواں ماہ کے اوائل میں ہوئے ڈرون حملے میں تحریک طالبان پاکستان کے اُس وقت کے سربراہ حکیم اللہ محسود کی ہلاکت سے مجوزہ مذاکراتی عمل میں خلل پڑا۔

قائمہ کمیٹی کے سربراہ سینیٹر حاجی محمد عدیل نے سرتاج عزیز کے بیان کو مبہم قرار دیتے ہوئے کہا تھا کہ سرتاج عزیز نے امریکی یقین دہانی سے متعلق بیان تو دیا لیکن ساتھ یہ بھی کہا کہ امریکہ کا موقف ہے کہ وہ مطلوب شدت پسندوں کو نشانہ بنانے کا کوئی موقع ہاتھ سے نہیں جانے دے گا۔

پاکستان ڈرون حملوں کو علاقائی خود مختاری اور بین الاقوامی قوانین کی خلاف وزری گردانتا ہے جبکہ امریکی حکام کا ماننا ہے کہ میزائلوں سے لیس بغیر ہوا باز کے طیارے دہشت گردی کے خلاف جاری جنگ میں اہم ہتھیار ثابت ہو رہے ہیں۔

واضع رہے کہ طالبان نے حکیم اللہ محسود کی ہلاکت کے بعد سوات سے تعلق رکھنے والے شدت پسند کمانڈر ملا فضل اللہ کو اپنی تحریک کا نیا سربراہ منتخب کیا ہے۔ اطلاعات کے مطابق فضل اللہ نے ماضی میں بھی امن مذاکرات کی مخالفت کی تھی جبکہ طالبان کی قیادت سنبھالنے کے بعد شدت پسندوں کی جانب سے یہ اعلان بھی کیا گیا کہ اُن کا بات چیت کے عمل میں شمولیت کا کوئی ارادہ نہیں۔
