More than 50% of PTI voters are Pathan. Also Rigged RTS system in Karachi doesn't count as "Urban votes". Just look at the next-door city Hyderabad: 2 NA seats for MQM 1 for PPP and 0 for PTI. It's not like Urdu-speakers in Karachi and Hyderabad have different mentality. Also Lahoris have largely voted for PMLN.

They should not have opened it on 14th August because there is always a euphoric pandemonium in Peshawar on every 14th august since 1947 and yes afghans and the former fata has made it problematic the local peshawares can't even go out of their houses on 14th now which they used to with great pomp and show. In KPK 14th August is celebrated with more fervour than eid or any other festival. hundreds of thousands of youth from around the province converge on this relatively small city in a single day, where there are masses of unchaperoned youth on the roads in these numbers mayhem is inevitable.
