First Chinese AEW&C ZDK-03 Karakoram Eagle Delivered

paf shouldn't disclose their location as the security situation in the country is not satisfactory otherwise some terrorist backed by india will blow them up using the name of islam.wat a pity

.
there were some news in the media regarding the chinese awacs few years back.ex air chief kalim sadat said that the air craft was selected for air force without consultation from the air board.he also said that the aircraft is not suitable for the paf requirements.but later on somebody have given him a "shut up call" probably.no more info was leaked after that

.
I agree that we should not disclose where assets are and should also keep them in separate bases. But at least, ISPR should announce that we got it:cool:

chaklala air base...
thats why PAF keep transport/tanker aircrafts..
and im pretty sure all the AWACS will be stationed there...
everyone knows about it

.
they will not keep all of these systems at one place.they have already dispersed C-130s after the mehran base incident.

No they wont be and the reason for that is simple and that is that chaklala AFB houses a transport sqd and the vip sqd. This coupled with the fact that the space at chaklala is very limited as the air force shares the airport with CAA the civil aviation and it serves as a major commercial hub for all domestic and international airlines.
As a result of the congestion it is very normal for passenger ac to be diverted or to maintain a pattern till space is made available. This situation will remain so until the new commercial airport becomes operational in 2 years time.
So station a new sqd at chaklala afb is out of the question.

yes he said that swiss one was better and we should have gone for more..but those times were different...at that time we thought we will get more f-16s(nearly 64 additional) and all jf-17s will be french avionics..it didnt happened..so we need those awecs to suppport jf-17s and j-10s(saab cant directly support jf-17s) besides they are much cheaper than saab.
and it was in 2008 when he lifted the point when musharraf was there.

i will also like to add PAF have a total requirment of 12 AEWC its good that we have two different types serving but AFIK a third chinese system was also required and unlike the ZDK or SAAB it was suppose to be a Jet AC with a larger Rotodom than previous but i dont know if our current situation will alow it the idea was to have a larger faster sensor in the air with longer range only in hi threat senarios.

Pakistan will be having very soon 8 total AWACS, 4 sabb eriye and 4 Zdk03.One AWACS communicates with many fighter planes during war time.So Pakistan should keep one plane on each operational air base.In this way we can provide facility to all of our squadrons to have eye in the sky and also can disperse our assets on various bases.

operating AWACS is a expensive business, no one flys AWACS round the clock to provide cover 24/7, only in time of need do they fly around the clock in which case they can reach anywhere

But the colour scheme is similar to the PAF ones , infact PAF SAAB-2000 too have the exact same colour scheme . I wonder whether it is a photoshop or a real one

no, pretty sure this isn't a PSed picture, since the person who released this photo is a well-known and well-credited photographer on various Chinese military forums (北风之神). Plus, the wavy pattern on the bottom of the plane is also present in all the other PLAAF AWACs.

This is another photo of a PLANAF KJ-200 AWAC he toke alone with the previous photo. This is the first photo of PLANAF's KJ-200 AWAC, where as before KJ-200 was known to be only service with PLAAF.

.
2 other photos showing the "wavy" pattern on the bottom of PLAAF AWACS (KJ-2000+KJ-200 in these 2 photos)
