Whose brainless idea it was to have a midnight fly by----or is PAF showing its night flight capabilities---.

Sir, the midnight parade (Hour of Pakistan becoming independent) had been held for the last several years, albeit at the PMA, where as the flag hoisting and other ceremonies took place on the morning of the 14th, in front of the parliament, however with the issue of all these marches descending on Capital, it was decided to move the timings.....in any case, those F-16s lighting the afterburner, pumping out star shells and going ballistic was indeed a sight to behold.

They both seem well connected however i must admit, Najam beat me to those Block-52pictures.

Watched the spectacle from the cricket ground opposite F-9 McDonalds...pretty decent show.

The climb of the F-16's could be observed pretty well from that far even.

Then the helis came in from the Kashmir Highway side and then banked...six helos with search lights at the bottom, quite a sight, that noise...lovely.

That was indeed a good sight if one's there. And it was done very nicely and professionally. They went super sonic not too far from the actual event. Your media crew doesn't know how to capture such impressive scenes. They just focus on close ups. There needed to be another camera around the parliament which would be stationary to capture the aerial shots.
Will someone give HD cameras to your media please?

The idiots behind the camera are like a kid in a candy store, they knew exactly what direction from which the aircraft would run in from but they still never arranged for the right positions and were more keen on focusing on the VIPs and other guests, any way i don't think they went supersonic as at that altitude, there would have shattered many high rise buildings in the vicinity.....anyways here's one F-16 doing it's stuff captured from a distance.

This looks much nicer and cleaner compared to the official ones. In fact, this is as clear as how it looked off the seats if you discount the distance. They did go supersonic, but they didn't go super sonic right on top of the buildings, it happened right before their descent. When the - 16's passed overhead , they were at Mach 1.1 as each plane flew by first and the sonic roar came in 3 seconds after and each time. Nicely done. Wish they had used a high density flare that would've given everyone a nice and clean look even in the dark!
