Filipinos Denounce Pro-US Ruling Elites, Rally for Independence

For the weak minded, Stockholm syndrome can be very persistent and I'm afraid, incurable.

The debate style of the person is antithetical to the known sound logicalness of Western Europeans, in general.

Like @AndrewJin says, bad immigration policy (if the displayed flags reflect the ground reality) is obviously inimical to national intelligence.

Europe has to be more selective on immigrant intake....it's detrimental to a country's average IQ.

Either way, Sweden is practically a lost cause thanks to US policy with regard to Western Asia, Russia and the EU. THe immigrants are wreaking havoc on the social fabric of Sweden and being the expert of Stockholm syndrome par excellence that the swedes are, they even ask for more if the same. What a fucked up bunch of people.

Well permanent presence of US forces has been out since 1992, but the Visiting Forces Agreement signed in the late-90s returned the presence of US forces, albeit temporarily.

Not delayed reaction buy rather a selective amnesia - while there were things the Americans did good to the country, particularly pre-WW2, Filipinos tend to only see negative things about anything American...while wearing jeans, using iPhone, and eating at MacDonalds.

Do you think maybe Duterte is looking for closer relations with China because his number 1 priority is to prevent his country from turning into a Narco-state? One of the first things he did when he took office was to name several Chinese nationals (and gangs) as being heavily involved in the local drug trade. Maybe he's looking for China to help on their end for once.

All this anti-US stuff is baffling since we have been pretty hands off for the last 25 years (other than giving you guys over $100M in aid every year)

This is what MrD complains!PH got two small military planes without weapons from the US. It's too little to consider it as an aid! The president simply wants more money support for being an ally of US. If the money is not there he can beg Chinese, and the hell to the freedom of navigation...

Wait...you are unhappy the US is not giving more military equipment to them?? I thought the claim was the US was a proliferator of weapons around the world leading to local arms races?? Now because we don't arm them we are the bad guys?

Other than China who exactly are they worried about? Let's concentrate on having money used for humanitarian reasons In a country that needs it instead of helicopter gunships and missiles.

Since when has intellectual consistency mattered to the PDF Chinese ? Or that they can keep track of their arguments ?

No,I am very happy and enjoy to follow what PH is doing now. What should they worry about China if they get billions from us? SCS issue is mostly made up or catalyzed by US. Is not US a trouble maker there?

Seems China is seen as the main troublemaker in the SCS. I don't hear any country other than China complaining about US ships there. However a bunch of countries are saying China is the troublemaker by taking over islands and expanding them. The US has no island claims.

If anything some are even welcoming the US suddenly.

I don‘t see any countries out of the gang of the US running boys complaining about China’s position on SCS. Why should they?

Was it exciting for US ship making a port call in VN?And don‘t you think that they welcomed your war machine just because you could make troubles in SCS?

Precisely, now even Philippine never complain about lack of freedom of navigation in SCS. US who dont share any sea line on SCS shall not be barking. The only reason US is barking is US is a troublemaker who is obstacle to world peace.

US is a evil nation! The root of all evil in the 21th century.

Can you list the countries who are in this gang and those who are not? Please limit it to countries who actually border the SCS. Seems many were calling China a troublemaker for the nine dashed line..not over US ships traversing the area.

Why would some people on this thread wants to frame this as China vs USA or China issue at all?

This is about the courage of Philippine people standing up together, fighting for the dignity to have their country run by themselves without the interference from other country. The American wouldn't like it anymore than their Philippine counterparts to have foreign military bases in their country and have others dictating their foreign policy.
