First of all, 75% of the farmer suicides has nothing to do with their financial condition. Most die because of their alcohol habit or die because their wife nags too much. Should we prevent farmers from getting married too?

3. free water and electricity.

11. no stock exchange allowed.

Who is asking them not to follow it. In local dso office you get free seed and kissan Bhawan. Of your local area provide you full information on what to grow after checking your soil and weather forecasts.

There are programme on radio and kirshi darshan on television.

But these lazy basstards are too busy with Shiela ki jawani, Munni ki badnami, chemali ka pauua, and jalebi ki kahani.

They have the resources, most importantly get educated or educate your next gen. In local govt school.

Politics is run by farmers

There is a real danger of underplaying the plight of the farmer by spinning it as part of life. Given a choice, NO ONE in India wants to be a farmer. They do it becaue they do not have any other choice.

yes but surely this subject is great for satire... this reminds me of a recent film of pankaj kapur in which he is a retired teacher who has been declared dead in government papers... i don't know why i make this connection but just seems related.



because farming here is unpolitical, unscientific and casual, which also has political/social effects, one of which is farmer suiciding.



i can imagine their despair which is why i have long been propagating for libya-style farming system where the farmer does not have to worry about anything at all...

- free land given to anyone interested in farming.
- free provision of initial material needs.
- free housing.
- free electricity, free water.
- free unemployment money ( if a crop should fail ).
- loan without interest.
- free education system, free medical system.
- system giving 60,000 dollars to a couple at wedding ( for married life expenses ).
- no squabbles about land because of socialist system.
- social life guided by socialism, which resolves intra-family disputes.

so a farmer's life is not troubled at all.



one of the problems is ultra-small rural farming which is not meant for self-use but for sale... in economic terms, it is not feasible.

the other problem is ultra-small micro-credit which provides only for immediate small expenses and nothing big that makes a person remove himself from poverty or indebtedness.

Your proposed system is being tried in Zimbabwe. You should come stay over here for a few months to realize what an utter and complete disaster it is
