F-35 to KSA ?

With so much cost over run and delays and most importantly many countries reducing the order or thinking of scrapping the deal entirely, US will happily sell it to KSA.

Another fail by Iranian media, again

Firstly:

The headline says: "60% of Saudi citizens live below poverty line: Saudi daily"

and another sentence says

"Despite being world’s biggest crude exporter, sixty percent of the people in Saudi Arabia live below the country’s poverty line, a Saudi newspaper reported."

And in the news (in the same link) it says: "According to official figures released by Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia (Shura), about 22 percent of Saudi citizens - at least 3 million citizens - live below the poverty line."

Secondly:

Millions live below the poverty line in Iran

At least 14 million Iranians live below the poverty line, according to a central bank report quoted by the press today, adding to concern about the welfare of those worst off in Iran as prices soar. The central bank figures, published in the reformist daily newspaper Sarmayeh, represent one in five of Iran's 70 million population. "If an urban family of four makes less than four million rials (USS425) a month then the family is under poverty line," it said.

In August last year, the social security and welfare minister Abdolreza Mesri said around 9.2 million people were living in poverty, 10.5 per cent of the population in cities and 11 per cent in villages. Mesri also said that two million people live in extreme poverty in Iran, earning less than 650,000 rials (S70) a month. The latest figures come at a time of increasing concern over soaring prices in Iran, which have hit the poor and state employees on low incomes particularly hard. Teachers, for example, earn less than $300 a month.

Since the Iranian new year in March, prices of basic foodstuffs, especially fresh vegetables and poultry, as well as services such as taxis have jumped. Iran's inflation rate — which has aroused much criticism of the economic policies of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad — topped 26 per cent in June, according to the central bank. President Ahmadinejad has been blamed by many economists for directly fuelling the price rises by ploughing huge amounts of cash into the economy to fund local infrastructure projects.

The government insists, however, that it has inflation under control and that booming oil receipts allow it to splash out on necessary infrastructure projects. Iran, the second biggest oil exporter in OPEC, last year enjoyed oil revenues of $60 billion in the last Iranian year to March. But there has been a sharp increase in money supply growth — a key indicator of future inflation trends — to almost 40 per cent during the years of the Ahmadinejad presidency.

He was elected in 2005 on a platform of making the poor feel the benefits of Iran's massive oil wealth, and he has made implementation of economic "justice" the main government slogan. Half of Iran's population are 26 or under. *AFP

In the recent weeks, some Iranian websites published a report about the economic disaster in Iran that says Half Iranian urban population are under poverty line The report adds: “44.5% to 55% of Iran’s urban population lives under the poverty line, according to a new report entitled ‘Measurement and Economic Analysis of Urban Poverty.’ The paper was presented by three senior government researchers at a conference organized two weeks ago by the national statistics center (Markazeh amareh Iran). The study provides a rare statistical glimpse into the country’s economic welfare, a topic generally treated with secrecy by the Mr. ****’s administration … The authors determined that at least 23.3 million city dwellers are under the poverty line and cannot subsist on their households’ incomes. Iran’s rural population was not included in the report. The researchers found that the average poverty line for urban households with 3.7 members is 653,000 tomans (about $650) a month if normal goods are consumed. Tehran province had the highest poverty line, 813,000 tomans (near $800) a month. Using this gauge, 55% of the country’s city dwellers are under the poverty line.

TLDR, ANYWAY people in SA don't live better than in Iran, ever, my point about the military budgets is still valid.

exactly 100% agree with you....thats why you see saudi arabia uses variety of military equipments from different sources. forget the f-35 and think of the typhoon tranche 3 with TOT that the saudi got. China, pakistan and saudi arabia are working on another field such as missiles.. ships.. and defense systems. Saudi Arabia is always aware and wise when it comes to the security of the country using whatever it takes to achieve her aims. The saudi lobby inside the congress is also very strong competing on all aspects taking advantages of every situation that her enemy might face.
Work silently you freak your enemy:triniti:

Even if Saudi Arabia gets the best F-35 still they should get 50 Stealth planes from another country to and also should fast buy submarines at least 12 of them along with ballistic missiles from China and increase their Armed Forces in numbers and improve their training

My brother Imran can answer you regarding the saudi navy he has more knowledge than me he can tell you about zulfiqar for the navy and what about the submarines. also Mosa can provides some info.
I would say 8 subs would be enough. as for the training how many joint exercises have the saudi army held in the past 5 years wether air, navy and ground forces. saudis are progressing very well and that doesn't mean stopping at that level.
