It was much better for Saudi Arabia to join in the EF-2000 program in 1990s along with Basic, Intermediate and Advance trainer program whether with EU or USA in 2000 to have their own aircraft. They can now produce 300 EF-2000 for RSAF and the most important thing will be their learning as well as cheap cost of production as they will be partner in this program and will not going to pay extra money and will be able to produce 30% of parts locally. And after that they can join in F-35A program as well to induct 110-160 aircraft in two batches.
