what I said is that F-16 cannot communicate with both types of AWACS while JFT can do that due to link-17, F-16 can communicate with erieyes directly and there were plans to indirectly connect them to KEs due to limitations of link-16.
Oh bhai ! All Assets are disposable of all AC if it cant talk to it but it can talk to some other asset which inreturn can talk back this is how it is working . There is some lag time but not sure how much in milli sec .This is all theory and understanding as this solution was started in 2004

.
zia these F16 we were buying were not cheap either about 800 million for 8 jets not cheap either .we can add EF in small batches .
i agree. if PAF wants another aircraft best option is to either add another plateform as weapon systems are evolving fast. we need a technological superior aircraft to supplement the thunder, with more advance AIM120D & fifth gen WVR missles for f-16 which we cant have

The only loser was Lockheed who missed out nearly a billion dollar, thanks in Indian "successful diplomacy " They should bill India for causing these losses.

Which Rafale, 126, 36 or the ones yet to arrive, if the deal is ever finalized. You guys have surely screwed the French big time. Keep dreaming folks, someday you'll have something apart from 40% available MKI and yet to be available tejas.

Now go back to your hutch and spare this thread.

Bhai, 40% of 230 still goes above 100 MKI ! Add to It, the Mirages and 29Ks and Jags, who needs Rafales to counter a few dozen F16s.

And by the way, India is sure to to have atleast 40% availability, With Uncle Sam out of the Picture what probability would u gess for PAF F16s ?

On Topic, Why doesnt Pakistan Opt for Swedish JAS 39 Gripen ? It has all the Western Avionics and a Great price.

.
not really, with training and equipment cost should be around 130-140 million.

where is the stick?
holding the US TAX Payer money is the Stick and Killing of Pro PAK Terrorist in Balouch...... what else u want in stick? lol

West have not sold BVR missile for JFT when available those can be integrated with JFT, JFT is fully compatible with NATO systems. US don't allow integration of AMRAAM on JFT. Just let PL-15 & PL-21 become operational then JFT will be superior in BVR to PAF's F-16.
Well Compare the Radar and BVR missiles of both planes.... ask your Sr. members.

JFT will have new radar soon it expected to be first AESA radar jet fighter of PAF and till then PL-15 and possibly PL-21 will be available.

ISLAMABAD: India has been lobbying to block the sale of F-16 fighter jets to Islamabad from the US. The deal was first drawn out in 2015, when Pakistan was offered to pay for US$ 699 million for eight F-16 jets.

The deal was subsidized, whereby Pakistan had to shell out only US$270 million and residual amount was to be funded by Washington from its Foreign Military Financing program. But recently US Congress turned the subsidy down and asked the Pakistan government to pay the entire cost from her own treasury.

However Pakistan refused to accept the full payment offer and rejected the deal rather said thank you to US offer and further expressed that Pakistan would look for alterable option for fighter jets.

F-16 sale to Pakistan: Facts and Figures

Earlier New Delhi had expressed her discontentment over the deal and constantly advocated that such sophisticated fighter jet are suitable for advance warfare and not for striking terrorist dugouts. India claimed that Pakistan pursuit to acquire F-16 jets is solely to gain advantage over Indian air superiority, especially after her recent plans induct French jet Rafale.

Obama Administration has also recognized New Delhi’s concern over the sale of latest F-16 jets to India. India had been pressurizing Washington to limit her military support to Islamabad. Purchase of such advance fighter jets would only bolster Pakistan efforts to undermine South Asia’s security in general and India in particular.

Why Pakistan has abandoned F-16 Deal with US

India looks firmed in denying the Pakistani Air Force the eight F-16 jets which comes loaded with upgraded facilities like all-weather, non-daylight environments and self-defence/area suppression capability. Indian lobby left no stone unturned to spoil the game for Pakistan.

According to some diplomatic sources, F-16 manufacturer Lockheed Martin expected to seal this deal as it plan to close their production unit in Fort Worth, Taxes. Pakistan probably would have been their last customer.

India is expected to be new destination for the manufacture of F-16s under the initiative of Make in India proposed by Indian PM Modi. Both Lockheed Martin and Boeing are exploring their venues in India to produce F-16 ‘Super Viper’ and F/A-18 ‘Super Hornet’.

However the most astonishing factor is that India which may have a F-16 production unit in India just fears 8 F-16 being delivered to Pakistan.

Is it the fear of just 8 F-16s or the competence of Pakistani Air Force Pilots which forced Indian Lobby to go all out against the F 16 deal.

It is pertinent to mention here that during the two wars of 1965 and 1971 Indian Air Force with higher numbers and superior technology had to face humiliation and embarrassing defeat by the Pakistani Air Force Pilots.

It s probably the same fear and humiliation which Indian Air Force strategists had in mind while blocking the F-16 sale to Pakistan.

Everything that PA owns is a national security threat to India. I am not upset because of this deal not going forward, I am happy that Pakistan will now finally explore for right option.
