the only viable option is too look at future, and only good option is investing in J 31, provide input there. be a ral stakeholder of that project, we'll gain knowledge and a good 5th gen jet,
the rest should be invested on Air Defence and SAMs.

If Pak is really concerned for the lack of quality fighter plane other than F16s than better go for EF or Rafaels regardless of money they will cost us else better shut the f*ck up and wait till J31 gets consolidates by 2023-25. Meanwhile move on to jf17 blk 3 directly with AESA radar. Even now Paf in my opinion wasting time and resources on block 2 production. Block 3 is not such an alien top notch tech that we have to wait till 2018 atleast to get that started.

If that happened then we will give China full access to our F-16 block 52 and with this they are going reverse engineer F-16 block 52 and the best thing to reverse engineer is its engine then you will see JF-17 with Chinese F100-PW-229. As far as the spare parts are concern after China will reverse engineer it then they can also build its spare parts.

China already made their F-16/J-10.They're going for 5th gen.Dunno how much info F-16 holds that still Chinese doesn't know(Atleast they brag something likewise).

Copying engine takes decades of experience,and that too not in copying others hard work.

If China could,they'd produce copies of mature Russian engines,but still they rely on them because they still can't.Producing a lookalike with stolen tech is one thing,producing quality products are something else.

Chinese products are famous for being cheap,not for reliability or its quality.

but Indian lobby is more power full in Russian as well
so chances are rare
last two option are TYPHOON & J-16D
typhoon is costly aircraft

The fact remains that India has never been able to stop any weapon sale, and in you own words "whined" about it to the US. The current deal was always linked to disagreements in Congress.

In todays world it is all money.
F-16's are available as ADA for which no congress approval is required. Obama could do this by executive order. Unfortunately the F-16's that have PW engines are unavailable.

SU-35 have been refused by India because the SU-30 MKI are considered equivalent after the upgrade. Though this would take some time.

Russia knows the Indians would not upgrade these aircraft by using Russian technology but would ask Israel of France to upgrade them hence not getting enough case. So if PAF would like to purchase these aircraft then it has to have Russian equipment may be some western subsystems. PAF would still find it as a very viable option because it would open up the Chinese flankers as well as provide them with a new engine that could be used on J-10's and J-31's later on.

EFT would give PAF the same capabilities as the SU-35 gives how ever it would be somewhat difficult for Pakistan to get them to allow the EJ-200 engine be part of JF-17 or any other Chinese aircraft though the prospects of TFX and KFX open up exponentially.

Giving someone a month's time to make a decision, and when one is expected to pay in full is a bit harsh. Also, announcing to all that the time has passed and that the offer has elapsed seems like a snub.

Usa is very very harsh on you pakistanis,

We are talking about 8 measley F16s NOT 80 and nothing like the cutting edge technology of a F35 lightenimng or F18 superhornets with aesa radars.

The USA are supplyimg F16 block 52s and above to Koreans Taiwanease &

the new eastern block nations without fuss.

They have hundeds of F16s lying wasting away in huge airfields.

SO WHEN PEOPLE SAY its nothing to do with outside prressure OR not linked to deep rooted mistrust in pentagon of Pakistan they re utterly wrong.

THE IS A SEA CHANGE in USA/PAK relations happening and this is beingg pushed by vested interested parties be it the jewish lobby or the new indian lobby in Washinmgton. AND politicians who are pro MODI and ani islam.

USA realise Pak Achilles heal is F16s they are squeezing all the time these days.
