Export earnings to cross $80B by 2024, hopes Tipu

What point is that? calling me BNP lmao. I never even voted in bd.

Its not just british bengali... bd ppl in canada also call there restaurants indian and most are recent immigrants.

Ya but french and british are close. Indians call bd ppl termite but proud bd ppl will still call there own restaurants indian. very proud bunch.

Of course BLA and BNP both are corrupt as ****. Because our family own real estate brokerage i personally know shit load of money laundering happening in toronto and Vancouver by these sweat shop owners and most of them are also part of BNP or BAL. these retards keep laundering money through under/over invoicing. and i am not talking about few hundred we taking about 5 or 10 mil houses. and then cry to govt for more handouts.

There is a lot more animosity between French and English than India and Bangladesh.

English people call the French frogs and French refer to the English as unsophisticated dogs.

English people generally have extremely low opinion of the French but at the same time recognise French brand is stronger in food and wines.

Business trumps personal animosity and pride.

France regularly blockades and indulges in all manner of chicanery towards the English.

You need to understand that indulging in hi tech industry at this point of development - will be suicidal.

Bangladesh needs millions of jobs.

Steel mills, auto factories, chip making - are heavily automated. Very few jobs per dollar invested.

Yes, it allows the middle class to thump chest - but does nothing for the poor.

You are wasting your time with that dude.

BD is slowly branching into medium-tech goods in the sectors of home electronics and pharma.

This is exactly the level of technological sophistication it needs to be with a per capita GDP nominal at 2-3000 US dollars and a population of 175 million.

That should be sufficient for the next 10-15 years before it needs to even think about hi-tech stuff.

As well as having agendas etc some are just not that bright. Economics and geopolitical understanding needs an IQ much higher than average and a lot of people posting on pdf simply are not bright enough to understand the stuff they write about.

No dude I wasn’t dropped on my head like you most likely were.

I was merely pointing out that you guys have a habit of cooking up numbers and making complete fool out of yourself and your country. Infact it is an ongoing joke on the net .

Anyone who has been to Bangladesh will corroborate that Bangladesh is light years behind in development and infrastructure compared to both India and Pakistan but yet churn out GDP numbers so impressive that even Americans are put to shame.

There is no diversity in Bangladesh exports and are stuck with Garments and raw agricultural products .

Anyways the point being you guys have an advantage of being a sweat shop of clothing in the world so all the credit due but when it comes to infrastructure , industry , strategic importance and value , global influence and presence and out of border influence and reach you guys are light years behind……

Heck try to win some ICC tournament for once ….
Someone's salty. tRy To WiN sOmE iCc ToUrNaMeNt.... Greatest metric possible for evaluating socio economic progress of a country!

They don’t need a Nobel prize in economics.

All they need to understand is that unless millions of jobs are created there will be social carnage like you see in India.

Modi has to bait the Muslims to deflect from the scarcity of jobs.

Due to automation - heavy and hi tech industries no longer provide sufficient jobs.

You will invest billions buying industrial robots from Germany but create very few jobs.

Only an idiot will do that whilst your median population is 17 years old!!!

Thankfully BongoBandhobi is not an idiot!

Sri Lanka thought tourism was its meal ticket. Look how that turned out!!!

My fellow bananarepublic brother.
What you're saying is true, a country depended on solely the export of one commodity is vulnerable to sudden shocks.
This is even more alarming for the fact that domestic consumption is mostly satisfied through imports.

No, you forget that most people are of average intelligence and so what may be obvious to you won't be to them.

That is the kind of people you are trying to convince. Even if they wanted to be persuaded what you are saying is just going over their heads.

As for creating hi-tech industry now, not only does BD have neither the human or financial capital for this, this world of 2022 is probably not the right time where it will be able to find willing markets for its goods in the West.

Remember the likes of S. Korea and Taiwan got extra "special" help in terms of tech transfers and ready markets from the USA and the West in general. The same won't apply to BD right now.

I am seeing Bangaldesh in spotlight these days. Looks like regime change operation is coming too in BD.

As a Pakistani, my advice to BD brothers is to never let the imperialists & their puppet take control of your country.

Easier said than done, bro!

But Hasina tends not to give easy excuses to the west.

She will not indulge in the usual stereotypes of Muslims. She wears simple saris and looks like a lower middle class person.

Hard to demonise someone like that HAHAHA

Yes. But still, your Military Chief went to USA for 11 days visit. Stay away from those F-16's, they are a curse.

I was telling bluesky about the Marshall Plan and how it took the U.K. 70 years to pay off the US debt.

US was extremely prosperous and had no economic rival.

All it cared about was free trade.

Opposite is the case now.

South Asia missed that moment.

Coupled with automation - very few opportunities for mass job creation.

Luckily Bangladesh has found the sweet spot.

These guys are too proud to see it.

You have to walk the dog regularly otherwise it will shit on your couch.

Our military chief was out walking the dog.

What ever make u happy. Keep saying same BS regarding sweat shops. if bd ppl like to get 100 dollar per month work like a donkey so that sweat shop owners can enjoy west Vancouver detached homes lol. at the end we do collect our 5 percent real estate commission from these retards who launder money here to invest on real estate.

In 25 years...440mn annually. So we're gonna get electricity and not the pollution. Fair bargain tbh.

This great talking head is comparing an option on electricity purchase over 25 years to building infrastructure.

Hahaha

Using this logic I can buy five houses now if I skip breakfast for the next 25 years.

Give me the houses now!!!

I will skip breakfast for 100 years.

Hahaha

Hahaha

This reply proves your complete lack of understanding of basic economics!

How can you extrapolate a commitment to spend few hundred million a year over 25 years - to funding infrastructure now?

You are effectively comparing an outright purchase to a rental!!!

Apples and oranges!!!

I bet you also deride mortgages because of the interest hehehe
