Expansion essential to make UN security council credible: India

The P5 UNSC is the most exclusive club in the world and the most prestige status in the international politics. India wants to be in the permanent UNSC for the exclusivity and status, than it is about broadening the interest of the world communities. They nominated themselves. No one nominates them. The neighbors don't want India in. India can't be in when you have no mass support from international communities.

Also the P5 job is to maintain peace by avoiding direct conflict with each other through close door negotiation, diplomatic concession, and consensus. They are the top 5 distributors of weapon in the world and nuclear arm ready. India is still not strong enough to be in the P5. Now if there is a country deserving of P5, it should be Germany. Germany has strong economy with advance technical expertise. If Germany re-arms, it would be a great power to be reckon with. India? Not yet, my friend.

Funny thing is Chinese were saved by USA and Russia, they never won the World war two but are saved. Still chinese say the five nations who won the world war 2 are prime candidates for P5.
Remove the last decade and Chinese are no where in the world. Stop your B.S

How conveniently you guys forgot the history? Today you guys deserve to be in the UNSC but in 1970s did you guys have any strong economy and technical expertise when you joined UNSC?

What a joke. It was an alliance war in which we contributed immensely fighting a world power Japan who are part of the Axis Alliance. For India? You didn't participate in anything and was irrelevant in the human struggle for war.

We already in the P5 when it was form at the UN formation. It's irrelevant how strong we were in 1970s or 1980s. Our history is more impressive than India. Just from a "potential" standpoint, we are bound to be in the P5 regardless of era.

We deserve and we will get it soon ...... :), UN security council do not have any meaning if India is not represented there.

India a country who's army chief dreams of nuclear attack going to UN Security Council permanent seat is a big joke

The membership was for Taiwan. PRC was struggling for international identity and recognition, after a long time PRC succeeded in getting the P5 membership replacing Taiwan.

It was Taiwan which deserved to take any credit for being a victor in WW2 and to be in P5 because it was the Kuomintang army which fought alongside USSR, Britain, US and other allies against Japan(and other axis countries) - CCP just took advantage of the situation and defeated the weakened Kuomintang army and again you were richly rewarded for ditching the communist bloc in 1970s.

India has "No first use of Nuclear weapons policy" and we strictly follow it.
