I don't understand why our gov. wants to be member of the UNSC, because the majority of in Germany doesn't want to get more involved into messy problems that are far from our borders. We already have enough burden to carry just around the corner.

I think Germany should replace Britain. Britain never disagrees with U.S., what the point of Britain in UN anyway? Might as well 4 members without Britain.

Also it's stupid to think that in today's world, the UN should be completely based on WWII. Lets move on. The criteria who should be permanent members should be foremost, independent international policies! The UN should be as representative as possible, so countries without any independent international policies are just redundant. That's why Japan is not good candidate. Brazil is better representative than Japan.
