As of now no plans to acquire destroyers are in place. As for the subs, hasina said that we will be getting 2-3 by 2019-2020

Any spec of those subs? As my opinion goes we must acquire atleast two destroyers on an urgent basis...

As of now there is no specification of the subs. Rumors has it that we are either getting it from turkey, south korea or germany. As bangaldesh military purchases are quite secreative we wont know what kind of subs we are getting until a later date.

Destroyers are quite expensive to maintain and is not feasible as we are going through modernisation not expansion of the navy. Replacing our old frigates with new modern ones is a better detterent force.

IMO Destroyers will only come around 2025 or later

.
look at Israel. They operate corvettes only... But those corvettes can take any frigate/ destroyer any day!

.
BDN at present does the work of a coast guard!!!.........until it attains brown water navy status it does not need destroyers !

.
Israel also operates this:

it's ok sir! what about F22-P ???? any news bout that??

Bangladesh should actively engage with Indian Navy and improve itself. BD can try Brhamos as well whereas India could explore the possibility of building some of its frigates in BD ship building yards. BD is quite advanced in building ship infact better than India.
