Excl: US proposed guarding Bangladesh Border against terror & Indian Threat

. .
Actually it would be good news for India. The Americans would be mostly interested in checking the Islamic extremists.

I don't know how BDeshi people will react to this news...but it's best if BDesh realises that the US is a staunch ally of India, so this offer (if real) might have some ulterior motives..

It's written all over it, but we are enjoying their multi level orgasms, don't disturb their delusions just yet. :D

.
And our military has been seeking these weapons for many many years. US has the most sophisticated weapons. These are sought out by many countries. But, it does not sell to any country. It is generally good that our military is already purchasing 4 units of used C-130E transport planes. Is this purchase unwise?

Do you think we will get second hand F16 C/Ds. If all this arms buying talk is true, I would love BAF
to have at least 5 suadrons of F16 c/ds at very cheap price.

.
America must be doing this to counter China.
US wants its footprints all over Asia.

dudes you can bring them in now for all you want, but don't be a cry baby like Pakistan later on and blame India for involving US in Asia/S.Asia.

nothing but a bunch of hypocrites many posters here are, first they shout no to USA in Asia, when given a chance they bend over wanting to be "made love to" and when US finds a new fix, you'll be the 1st to shout again that US is not welcome here, get out, death to America and end up making a fool of yourself

But it is highly debatable whether the news is true or not, after all it is the Indian media :azn:

I think they are selling small arms and support vehicles only. Even if we buy fighter pilots from them, they will be stripped down to their bare minimum, even the f-7bgi will be better than that.

I am ok with buying military equipment from the US, but having their base in bangladesh gets a NO from me. It only serves indian and american interest of containing china. What can we possibly get from USA base in bangladesh?? For sure they aint gonna send their men to the borders.

.
We are ok as how we are they dont need to guard our border we have BDR to do it

.
Well buddy, India is no ally to USA. USA is milking India by selling some hardware. It serves two purpose. 1) make some money 2) reduce some china pressure in Asia Pacific.

Obama made the similar statement to China if you did remember correctly

India do not need US as an ally. India do have independent policy and its own strategic intrests. This move by US will benifit India in long term
First it will counter the chinese moves in bangladesh and second when the time is ripe i.e US decline and rise of indo-china India will replace the vaccum in BD.

India is not going to play as an ally but an equal to world super powers in the coming decades.

.
lolz you guys believing that US will go against Indian troops......:woot:...they don't want to loose India for BD.....

.
I personally do not think, USA has offered BD a physical presence of US troops along the BD border. However, a few years ago USA sent a team to survey the BD-India border. As far as I understand USA has installed some kind of listening/watching equipments across the BD-India as well as BD-Burna border.

The then US Ambassador defended this action by saying that these are to check infiltrators (read terrorists) across the border. US has also installed two radars in Kuakata and Cox's Bazaar. These the US says is to watch over the sea pirates. Well, to US and BD India itself is a pirate.

USA uses many vague and diplomatic words to camoflage its true intention. However, I believe the already installed border equipments are to check the movement of Indian and Burmese troops. The shore radars are to watch also Indian and Burmese navy movements.

Not only this, USA has installed also a number of watching equipments on Himalayan tops and in Arunachal Pradesh in order to watch over any Chinese troop movements. But, I think these are also to watch over IA troop movement. This is how the Policeman of the world polices different potential conflict zones.

Therefore, I believe, US does not intend to man our border along with BGB with a physical presence. Rather, it wants to install many more watchdog equipment posts along the border to watch over Indian troop movements.

I have reasons to believe that it was the USA who had informed BD in 2008 of the Burmese survey ships in an area which lies only 32 km SW of St. Martin. When BD sent its naval ships to the contested sea, one US navy ship has already arrived and anchored in CTG, all in the name of humanitarian assistance to the cyclone victims. But, it was too quick. It means it sailed for CTG immediately after the USA had notified BD about the Burmese activities.

We have to understand that any point in the sea is very difficult to pinpoint correctly without sophisticated aerial survey equipments. BD does not possess such equipments. But, US satellites are capable to pinpoint an X-Y co-ordinate in the sea quite accurately. This is how US came to know about Burmese movement near St. Martin which it informed immediately to the GoB. Reality is USA is already working with BD military for quite a long time.

Considering all these I am of the opinion that US wants to install many more listening posts along the BD border with India and Burma. It certainly cannot watch China from BD. To watch over China it already has a few watch posts on the Himalayan top.

Sorry for the long post. It is indeed too long. But, I thought I better share the information which I have gathered during the last few years.

Don't be fooled my friend. In your post you have mentioned that the listening devices installed in AP and Bangladesh borders is to check IA. So do you mean US is helping China against IA??
USA is becoming weak and will be weak with the rise of Indo-China so it is in the interest of US to checkmate Chinese moves and confine it before India can take that place. India and US do have lot of differences in their strategic interests but when it come to China they both have same interests.
The devices installed on both sides of your border are to check the infiltration of HUJI terrorists from BD and North eastern terrorists who have backing of China.
