With similarly visionary leadership, Africa has the potential to also do it within this century, they already have the raw materials.LOL, Do you think they will listen to you?
It took China several decades to get the proper infrastruture and large skilled trained work force in place, how long do you think it'll take other countries?
The speed at which the Chinese did it is unparalleled in the world and will probably remain so, due in party to the unity and in part to East Asian cultural respect for self sacrifice on behalf of society, IMHO.
A Trans-African railway could help resolve issues and make it worth it for many peoples along the route to find common cause for cooperation rather then isolation and squabbling. Economics have a way to bring all but mortal enemies together, and even them in a few generations.
