Yes I am 100% sure. There are of course very religious girls that would never date anyone at all, unless if its arranged, but most of the younger generation is very modern and dating openly is not a taboo at all. This kind of "modern-day dating" as I can call it, also occurs in KSA and the GCC where couples or two people talking decide to meet in a coffee shop, park etc. Some public areas are still segregated though. For example there are family sections and single sections etc. in restaurants.

As for being modern, I think that the GCC youth is the most modern on paper (technology, being connected to the world, social media users, traveling abroad, studying abroad, having the money to buy international gods) but still the societal norms are conservative in nature (probably more than elsewhere but it is changing with the youth who make up 70% of the population) so such an open dating culture like in the West does simply not exist in public.

I have actually only done it in the West (serious) and otherwise back in the region most interactions were formal. Today as you have become older it would be easier to date formally back home when both parties are grown ups. Not that it could not be done in theory, it would just not be accepted/looked at well for religious and cultural reasons. I think much more so for women than us men. Here we have always a longer cord or how you say it in English. Here I am not including earliest crushes when you were barely a teenager where it was more relaxed, lol.

Well, if you are going on a date with someone obviously you dont go to a family restaurant, we have special cafes and restaurants etc that almost only singles who are looking for a date and people already on date go to.

The thing about girls in Iran is that you can actually see from the way she dresses how her family is. If she wears "classy" clothes while being single she is most likely from a modern open minded family. Because traditionally Iranian girls only wear make up and fix themselves after they are married, its opposite of the rest of the world I think. So if you see a single girl with classy outfits you can approach her and ask her for her number, if she likes you, you can date her.
