Egypt's F16s aren't BVR capable? Why did they accept that and end up with 200+. If they go for the JF-17, It has to be block 3 considering their neighbourhood.

When Eypgte goes for JF... they will be automatically qued in for NGF of PAF and down the line J31.

My only comment looking at the inventory of Egypt AF is that it is multisourced and very varied. It can potwntially be a maintenance nightmare. What are your thoughts.

Its too early to speculate. Let JFT block 3 get inducted in PAF and then keeping in view its performance, only then can we be sure of its potential sales

Why would Egypt go from buying Rafaele jets to jf17

6 - Rafales - More on order
18 - Mirage 2000s
80 - Mirage 5s ( gonna retire soon )
50 - Mig-35s
60 - Mig 21 Fishbeds ( gonna retire soon )
60 - J-7s ( gonna retire soon )
55 - Alpha jets
12 - Air Tractors 802

I think If they buy JF-17s in future that would be to replace J-7s , Mig 21s , Mirage 5s , Alpha jets , Air Tractors . Conclusion is that Egypt would need around 200 modern jets to replace the jets mentioned above , and like Zarvan bhai said that they would most probably go for the Block 3 JF-17s because of the new goodies that would be introduced like AESA .

They're also getting 50 MiG-35s.

Because they cant or wont buy 150 rafaels to replace all their legacy or older jets

Jf17 block 3 with Aesa, Irst and lots of other goodies at a reasonable price to replace older fighters would be a big boost to Egyptian airforce
