Well that’s the first positive evaluation of the economy I’ve seen so far and considering it’s coming from AKD, I believe it to be credible enough. Let’s hope he’s right and things are actually moving in the right direction. However, the govt needs to re create an environment to encourage local investors to re invest, because right there is almost zero movement of capital these days. Which is why businesses are at a standstill.

Some businessmen are abset that they have to pay tax to federal government. Government is moving in the right direction by increasing the taxnet and bringing the reform.

The biggest challenge for IK is to reduce the prices of basic necessities. Majority of our Quam is illiterate and don’t care about reforms or how much loan government
gets from IMF. They only want government to reduce prices of basic commodities, for example, rice, corn, wheat, flour, bread, meat (Goat, beef and poultry meat), fresh eggs, fresh and processed milk, infant formulas, fresh fruits & vegetables, onions, garlic, lentils, Tea, sugar, cooking oil, salt, laundry soap, detergents, candles and other commodities. Public want discounts on electric and gas charges, reduced prices of petrol and Diesel.

PM Imran heaps praise on govt economic team, says inflation to be overcome

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday assured the nation that he will overcome inflation in the country caused by the flawed policies of previous regimes.

Addressing a public gathering in his native Mianwali after performing the groundbreaking of a number of welfare projects, the prime minister once again recalled that his government had inherited multiple economic issues including low foreign exchange reserves, a huge circular debt, and fiscal and current account deficits.

He said the previous administration had been spending reserve dollars to stabilise and maintain the value of the local currency against the dollar. The PTI government had not found enough dollars to follow suit so a correction strategy followed, he added.

As a result, the value of the rupee against the dollar depreciated by 35 per cent. Prime Minister Imran said he was grateful that the rupee devalued by "only 35pc" as it could depreciate to Rs250 against the greenback due to the external accounts' situation.

It was the rupee devaluation that opened the floodgates for inflation, the premier said. "We didn't increase the inflation," he stressed, holding the former regimes of the PML-N and PPP responsible for the prevailing situation.

The prime minister, however, announced that the country's economy is on a correction course and the measures taken by the PTI government have now started yielding results.

"I am proud of my economic team. During the last four months, our CAD came to an end. As a result the rupee's value increased by Rs4."

He said that the economy has now adopted the right direction and as a result the confidence of foreign investors is restoring in the local economy, businesses are returning to the country and the Pakistan stock market is picking up.

Talking about the local bodies system, the prime minister said that his government wants to install a mechanism which would work for the betterment of people no matter who is at the helm of the affairs.

Citing examples from Western countries, he said that the provincial governments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab will be introducing a local government system under which elections will be held at the village level and development funds will be transferred directly from the provinces to the villages.

Under the new local bodies system, villagers will oversee the functioning of schools, basic health units and police stations. Similarly, in urban areas the elected city mayors will constitute their teams and will be responsible for the development of their respective cities, the premier said.

Coming to the subject of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif's departure to London, the prime minister said that he was forced to stare at the PML-N supremo's medical reports after seeing the former premier board the air ambulance. The report listed 15 diseases including cardiac complications and suggested that Nawaz was at the verge of his demise, Prime Minister Imran noted.

He said that after seeing Nawaz board the air ambulance, he (Imran) wondered if the former prime minister "got healthy with the first glance of the London-bound airplane".

it’s true that real change will take 3 to 4 years. PTI must keep pushing for more reforms and continue to increase Taxnet and ease of business to improve and invite foreign investment. China agreed to move some of it’s industries to Pakistan is a positive sign for our economy. I predicted in 2018 that USD to PKR value won’t go above 165. If government reforms continue, I am seeing USD to PKR will be between 120 to 125 in 3 years.

If not for 11-14 billion USD collected by PM IK from Qatar, Saudia, UAE, China there was no money in the coffers to pay the 11 billion USD to IMF and other donor agencies last financial year.

And the CAD running at 19.5 billion USD, 24 billion USD in exports and 61 billion US in imports was catastrophic, and about 7-8 billion USD was used by PMLN to keep the rupee value high compared to US dollar.

And Pakistan is paying about 10 billion USD this fiscal year to IMF and donor agencies and with not much fuss.

The rupee has gained about 4-4.5 rupee against dollar recently(without any artificial appreciation) and Stock Market is in Bulls...things falling in places.

1- Pakistan would become subservient financially to accept;
A- Hegemony of USA through the financial institutions it leads.
B- Compromise its independence effectively.

2- To remain as an independent state Pakistan would accept the long term wishes of the enemies;
A- To lose it's nuclear state status, handover its arsenal to the USA who would control it, store it, or destroy it, etc.
B- Accept the hegemony of India in the region so USA can move on to its real target in the area/world, China.

3- Pave way for India's permanent seat in UNSC.

What makes me laugh is how quickly Dr Moid tried to change the subject from Karim. He was interfering, cutting Karim off, but thank God Karim insisted to pass on the message effectively.
Considering that Dr Moid relatively is better, but he is still suffering same syndrome like Dr Dhbar Dhoos.
Who is attacking IK in more subtle way in his program for months, ever since his arrest. He is bitter and holds IK responsible.
